I watched this video and then went on to ranger-roll as much of my (and my partner's) stuff as possible. I found it works well for bulky/fleecy pants like PJs or sweats. Just folded down the waistband, folded in half, and rolled from the bottom. Thank you for sharing the technique with the world!

The roller fold is really great for camisoles. . I do it for my not so nice camisoles (ones for working out and more fashiony ones) and I hang my nicer more frequently worn camisoles on velvet hangers. Works great. Thanks for the tip on sweaters. Long sleeves are always troubles to fold. Live your vids!

You have completely blown my mind with the [sorta] ranger roll for tights - I have a lot of tights and fancy leggings that are a pain to store. Standard rolling doesn't do the trick - especially for my fleece-lined tights since they're thicker. I might also try this with my fancy (BlackMilk, Bombsheller) leggings because right now I just have them folded on a shelf but the slippery material makes them difficult to pull from the middle... though if you have any better suggestions for leggings and other spandex-y material clothing, let me know!

That sweater folding technique is exactly how I learned to fold tops when I worked in a high end department store many years ago! I still use it today, and for shallow drawers, bring the bottom of the sweater all the way up to the collar rather than stopping halfway, and then fold that in half so you have a nice compact rectangle vs. a square 😋

@Cantetinza179 жыл бұрын
Lol, I've ranger rolled my clothes all my life. It's a great space saver in your luggage. Yes, but you are right it is hard to decipher between your shirts if you do have a lot of the same color. I only use it for my luggage and I wrap my outfits together and I already know what I'm wearing for the day of the week. That's a cool way to hang your jeans, yes I fold my jeans that way too. I worked in a retail store, so I retained the knowledge. I'm glad I know how to fold! Lol My grandmother would iron before she folded.

Melissa, I got a chance to see our picture and I just love how petite you are, I am always told how tiny I am, but I think you give me a run for my money, makes me smile :-) I would love to know if you come back to SLO, I would love to take you to dinner on the patio, with the twinkly lights on and the frogs going on the creek... nothing is better. They don't seem to folding as well because they have the collar. Any suggestions?

OMG, those W-way of hanging the pants, clever, might have to start doing those! totally agree all the CONS that you mentioned about the first fold-technique especially that I have so many same-color clothes, would be a pain to open all neatly rolled-shirts just to find the one that I was looking for, and the stretching concern is major cons too ..

I like that you included pros and cons! I was thinking of those cons about the ranger roll especially. Personally, I hang all my family's shirts, which makes it easy to find the one we're looking for and minimizes wrinkles. We're lucky enough to have the closet space to do so though. Otherwise I'd use that popular drawer trick. =)

@yvetteyasui9 жыл бұрын
Samantha Midgley If you have alot of items to fit into a small amount of packing space, I love using The Bundle method of packing. It economizes space like no other packing method. If however you do not have to pack a ton of items into a carry on, and you prefer to keep organized, you may want to pack in outfits. Using dry cleaning bags to place your garments in before folding or rolling keeps wrinkles to a minimum. I think Melissa must have done a packing video in the past, but I'm not 100% sure. Luck and love.
@sophiaruiz64849 жыл бұрын
Samantha Midgley If you just do a basic roll, (Ranger Roll without the lip) and secure it with something like this: www.thegrommet.com/travel/rollnband-space-saving-packing-aid then you've got it started. You can make your own with some ribbon at least an inch thick, just remember to put some sort or indicator on one side so you know what's clean and what's dirty. You can use packing cubes, or empty, clean makeup bags to organize into outfits, or by article. Hope this helps, and good luck on your trip.

I didn't know the Ranger Roll had a name. My grandpa taught me to do this with our napkins to make a wallet. For a silly kid, it was kind of neat. Get a pant hanger that has one open end and is padded. Life changing. Find 'em on Amazon. Easy to hang, easy to see. Easy to remove for wear. Down side, can create a crease across the pants. Alternate is a "clamp-style" hanger. Hang your dressy pants clamp style and the rest on the open-ended hangers.

Hi Melissa! Love you and your channel so much! I just wanted to leave a comment because I've noticed recently you've really changed the pace of your vids... you've started speaking soo fast and, although it's cool to get cleaning done quickly, it sort of makes your vids have a little more stressed of a tone... you used to be more... slow and sardonic, haha, but you've become more fast and suuuper energetic. Nothing wrong with a little energy, but don't be afraid to take your time!! I like to put you on in the background when I clean (which I think a lot of your viewers do) and when you go soo fast it isn't as relaxing lol :) Still am a huge fan though, just wanted to point out that your pace had changed because I figured you wouldn't notice since it's yourself!! (Does that make sense?) Also, Canada rocks! :)
