The jump from Burnout 3 to Burnout Paradise is a perfect example of old vs. new game design. The first gives you tightly designed tracks where the developers have thought about every element of the experience. The second gives you a big open world with a shopping list of tasks and asks you to make your own fun. Don't get me wrong, I can see the appeal of the latter. @@orangeslash1667 That kind of thing is always frustrating to hear. Games like MadWorld will sell poorly for various reasons (in this case, being an M-rated Wii exclusive probably didn't help!), and then publishers will write it off as a failure that's not worth revisiting. But in reality, things aren't so simple: many games have the potential to perform better now, thanks to being unshackled from a specific platform, being available digitally (much longer "tail" on sales, less risk due to lower manufacturing/distribution costs), and sometimes developing a cult following.

Thank you for mentioning Mischief Maker and Vigilante 2nd Offense. I still have it on my Dreamcast. Usually dust it off every Xmas!

I am sure you either mentioned these in the last video or maybe even in this one, but we really need to bring custom robo and kid Icarus uprising the modern consoles: and by that, I mean either the switch or the switch 2🎮 Thank you for the video austin, and God Bless y'all🎮

Both Space Station Silicon Valley and Mischief Makers were games I played so many times, but for some reason, I was unable to finish them, even using cheats. And I believe that Space Station had a bug that prevents you from collecting a single piece of gold which renders the game unable to be completed? Yeah.

There is a Gameshark code that fixes that, actually.

There's an upcoming game called DoubleShake, that looks to be a spiritual successor to Mischief Makers.

Cool video dude. I really liked the Need for Speed games on the PS2. That was a really cool time to play videogames. There was almost this weird cross-culture between music and videogames you don't see anymore. I remember I had this ATV game that was pretty cool, but half the reason was for the soundtrack. It had like Smashing Pumpkins and Alice and Chains on it. I really miss those days, but hopefully they're not gone, just in hibernation.

Austin…..as someone who played Space Station Silicon Valley a LOT, I don’t think you quite got the premise. The titular space station houses four biomes (Europe, desert, jungle, and tundra/arctic). These biomes are populated by robotic animals, which is why they can have propellers and tanks attached to them. EVO is a robot that was reduced to a microchip upon crash landing into the station.

Good use of the Cybernator soundtrack during the War for/Fall of Cybertron segment.

I loved Mischief Makers so much when I rented it that I actually bought it when Blockbuster went out of business and still have it with me to this day.

You didn't/'t fail. You helped game preservation as a whole. Hope you realize that and I offer thanks ☺

There should be an official "abandonware" law to prevent companies from locking any form of media away claiming they own the copyright. Like "Hey, that game you published/developed 10-20 years ago and have no plans for? Either you actively do something with it or make it public.

Awesome videos. Mischief Makers is the best platformer I've ever played. Loved that one! As well as PSO that was mindblowing! 😎 We need those remakes! Now!
