3:50 I rode v-twins all over farm, ranch, and fire roads, dirt mountain passes, etc. That was all good, but I like my KLR’s ability to just tractor up or over almost anything, without having to choose my line carefully and go slower, as I had to do on the Harleys on harder stuff. Love my KLR!

Pretty cool that you places like that to ride so close to home. I wonder if they changed the engine or if it’s just the difference in other factors, but I could fairly easily hit 100 on my ‘07. Granted, it was on asphalt and maybe not as loaded down, but my brother hit 100 on his and he has about 100 pounds on me. I’ve heard they are slower than the carbureted ones were, but haven’t seen anything official. I’ll probably look into the TPMS. Thanks for sharing.

Love that intro! Very cool! Wow, we need to meet up sometime--I'm in Elko....good riding in Winnemucca. Thanks for the video--good stuff! 😀

Good videos. Let’s make the Dakota 600 ADV rally (just before the main Sturgis rally) a KLR riders’ meet up place. We camp in the national forest and ride the crazy cool network of roads, tracks, and trail that meander through the Black Hills.

What tire sensor did you buy?

Happened to me at a slow speed and I'm a rookie, went flat immediately it wobbled everywhere only 200 miles on the bike I traded it in for a new Honda cb500x tubeless all the way for this old 69 year-old but the KLR sure felt nice going over the bumps

Interesting. I’m gonna run my 23 Adventure this year at the run what ya brung drags at Sturgis. No redlines, just one run at normal acceleration, and one at relatively fast. Then, I can ‘brag’ about my 14 second times, lol

What preload and damping settings are you running? I've been watching all your videos. I got the same bike and I'm about your size. I'm in the process of putting the same mods on it. So I'm just curious what your suspension settings are.

I literally picked it up at the dealership, brought it home, cranked the shock to the heaviest setting, and haven’t touched it since. Just waiting on my new suspension before I start to start play with settings

@@johnbutler9012 Thanks for the reply. I think that is what I'm going to do. It felt kinda sketchy at 65mph with heavy crosswinds and I think it is because I still had it on the stock suspension settings. Ride safe man, glad you didn't have a blowout.

So what gauge is it that u mounted
@matthewgodfrey8172 жыл бұрын
Wow I thought your tire pressure gauge was a bit of overkill but it looks like it saved you there! How hard was it to get the stock tire off? Not had a flat yet but I need to get a good set of tools ready for it. That lake bed riding looks cool, I have a trip through Giant Loop gear coming up and one of the rides over that weekend is out to the Alvord desert, it’s going to be the highlight for sure.

Dude I know I sound like a b%tch but the gauge may have saved my life. It was way worse than I let on. I thought I was screwed for a min. If I had tapped the rear brake I probably would have ended up on and pavement at ~70mph in BFE

Lol half of what you mentioned is 90% dependent on the rider not the bike you say it sucks in sand yet mine has no problem and loves the sand and mud but I’ve grown up riding bikes in the sand and mud so it’s nothing new the bike dose whatever you ask it to do it’s a fuckin Klr like that’s it not much to it it’s got what you need to go just about anywhere obviously it’s not the best at everything no shit it’s 7,000$ but with a good rider it will do everything well from whoops to twistys
