MORE NEW FISH! | Praecox Rainbowfish

In this weeks video we add a new type fish to the fish room, The Praecox Rainbowfish. More commonly known as the Dward Neon Rainbowfish this fish is stunning. Showing great color as both a male and a female.
We show you the difference between the 2 during the QT process and then shown you the group of 3 after their addition into the 125 gallon recently setup planted island aquarium.

amazing praecox rainbows. defiantly go for them breading wise. i think I will set up a tank for them as well. you could add some redbase tetras as well possibly

The tank is looking amazing, you have so much scope with the tank being 6ft long. Once those Angels mature they're going to look stunning just gliding along as they do. I know you have Tetras in there but a large school of them would look good too. Keep the videos coming, so look forward to them.

I'm setting up a 55g tank tomorrow. I'm getting praecox rainbows, platys and angelfish...very excited. My background and substrate will be black so I'm hoping to bring out more color since rainbows are one of the many fish that show colors better with darker backgrounds and substrate

I just got 3 of them in a quarantine tank . Lots of plants , not sure how I will catch them . First time fish keeper . They were gard to catch in the store. They are very nice one is a bully 3 males

Hi I clicked on this video as I’d like to get some of these fish but my ears pricked up when you said you have 20 gallon long aquariums, may I ask where you got them as I can’t see them available in the UK anywhere? Thanks- Rebecca

LOVELY! Do they have to live in groups of 5 or more? Or could I get one?

These are group fish, the more the merrier. The minimum you should get is three, one male, two females but they will be happier with six or more. They need swimming room so aim for at least 90cm long, 100 ltrs.

I waited for around 12 Pagai f3/f4 Praecox for several months. Got them and find them to be pretty much a grey/silver fish. Frenetic, haphazard as well. I'm not feeling the love here.

Lisa Have your Rainbows colored up more by now. I feed mine Variety of , flake Frozen Brine shrimp and frozen Bloodworms , algae wafers , sinking shrimp pellets . They are from my local fish shop , so don’t know where your Pagai F3/F4 are bred exactly , unless they were captured in the wild. I have a group of 6. 3 female 3 male. Their colors look the best in natural light . My females are half the size of the males and all purchased together, same age when I bought them. However the blue iridescent colour on their bodies are just as vibrant as the males in the morning especially , deeper blue than later in the day. I have only a 36 gallon bow front tank. I have live plants , 4 Cory’s 1 Siamese algae eater, 4 Otocinclus 5 Blue eye gertrudae and 4 Ammano Shrimp
