Boston Dynamics

Күн бұрын

Atlas uses its whole body -- legs, arms, torso -- to perform a sequence of dynamic maneuvers that form a gymnastic routine. We created the maneuvers using new techniques that streamline the development process. First, an optimization algorithm transforms high-level descriptions of each maneuver into dynamically-feasible reference motions. Then Atlas tracks the motions using a model predictive controller that smoothly blends from one maneuver to the next. Using this approach, we developed the routine significantly faster than previous Atlas routines, with a performance success rate of about 80%. For more information visit us at www.BostonDyna....

@@yukorai8323 I'm already in computer science. If you think ANY job is safe, you are deluding yourself. Yes, there will be tons of jobs in science....performed by robots who consider us inferior. The direction of IT for years has been to automate everything. You know you have succeeded in automating everything when they tell you you are no longer needed. This is a pattern that has repeated over and over. For now, my job is safe, but I can see that long before Robots are being doctors and such, they will be running computer science environments, because they don't need a body to do it. My original comment was meant as a bit of a joke, but don't think for a minute that this isn't the direction the world is heading in.

In a not to distant future, once software have improved to the point where what you can build is based mostly on hardware, then these things will become relatively cheap to produce. they will first be introduced into military as privates, then into civilian use for reasons of safety. It wont be the robots that take over but the corrupt governments that sold you these things, all under the disguise of being for your safety. From this point on a one world government will rule through tyranny over all humanity for as long as we exist. There will be no chance of rebellion for eternity... this is inevitable!!!

History says: first, new technologies will be made available to the army, and then it will be used by civilians. i could well imagine this robot with a weapon but with vlt engine and the software is simply taken over from a ego shooter game ... it is controlled by 6 people. one gives the command. one moves the robot. two look for targets ... and shoot 2 .... first it must be smaller and then man should build these robots so the normal weapons do not destroy it .... vlt man can use something for house fighting. important is that it is not autonomous and controlled by humans. man imagine 10 of these robots in front of the then can not be shot by a panzerfaust ... if something in this way is ever buildable. but it would be better if we use such robots to produce food for everyone in the world. There are robots to prepare the food. At some point there will be a lot more robots and that will make a person unemployed. Until then we have to think about what mankind will do. I would renaturate and irrigate the earth, planting trees and trees. even if the human being is partly unemployed by robots, it does not mean that she will then find a place for our miteinader. through internet we have the chance to change the world for the better. And because I think that there are more people who want to be good people I know that everything in the world will improve one way or another. robots and robotic technology can be used in all areas. we just have to think it over. Thank you very much for your interest and continued success in your work. and do not drink alcohol or take any drugs. I do not count marijuana as a drug. not who says what is important but what he says - - - I hunt Cheaters and you? - - - bashoertueatweb.de.tl/ - - - Thanks for your Time

Yes off course. Let's put aside paranoia and just look at the way the military and police behaves right now. Then transfer these abilities to the same scenarios and there you have it. No paranoia, just next obvious level this time with a machine that will have no moral compass or PTSD after the manslaughter. Aside from that I think this is absolutely awesome and love what Boston dynamics are doing here. I just wish that for once the military wouldnt take over and use the tech for opressing the weak and make the strong and wealthy even stronger. It's not paranoia. It's history and human nature.

Boston Dynamics technically is revolutionizing hardware and physical milestones. Skynet, If you think about it, is a level of data processing. It's software. Atlas doesn't think for himself so he is separate from something like Skynet. It's when the hardware and the software combine that we are near our demise.
