After getting sore fingers every time I changed props, and then looking for some sort of prop removal tool and finding none, I decided to go a different route and purchased "Wisdompro 16 Pcs Finger Tips, 4 Sizes Anti-Slip and Reusable Silicone Fingertip Protector" from Amazon. I wear one pair on each thumb and index finger so I can grab the prop without any pain and the motor without any slippage. It comes with more sets than I need so I gave some away to other whoop flying friends. Nick, you should try it for a cheap and effective solution.

I like that you are making an improvement video on the Mobula6 HDZero, not many videos on the quad to begin with so this is awesome! It is cool that you were able to get BlueJay firmware on these ESCs. The DVR footage looks great! Not very much breakup indoors. This quad is definitely speedy and more efficient, two relatively simple changes go a long way! I remember when you were talking about possibly getting a pool a while back, so it is cool seeing the progression of the pool and outdoor living space with each video that is posted! Love the micro time, thanks for the video!

Nice that you can get an improvement with the BlueJay ESC firmware and different props. This is a cheap hop-up. Now on to the 75mm frame. :D Like you, I much prefer the performance (and efficiency) of the 75mm form over the 65mm. However... for me the sweet spot is 3" tooothpicks like the Babytooth and Gnarly Primo. Adding HDZero to those would be a minor performance hit that should be more than balanced out by the improved video.

I started drilling my prop hubs after hurting my fingers and destroying a few motor shafts trying to replace props. A gentle quick pass with a #62, .0380in, or .9652mm bit works good. They feel a little loose but stay on the shafts. Doing this on 4 whoops, and some 50 packs, I only lost 1 prop in a hard crash.

I don't get that whoop long-range thing? Why should I go long-range with a frkn whoop?in my opinion 100m are already ultra long-range for a whoop why go further. If you want to go take a real kwad!

@@calcifiedbonecollector3222 In near past there was no single board whoop FC with everything integrated. Now we have HappyModel ELRS board with 400 mW analog VTX. Now I have no problems flying 100 - 200 m even behind the trees that was not possible with 25 mW VTX and FrSky. Mobula 7 ELRS is very lightweight and flies like a rocket. If I could have the same sized whoop with digital HDZero system then it would be the best thing in the world. Sometimes you cannot bring "real quad" as you wrote because there are people that might be scared by something bigger even if it's below 250 grams.

One of the best review videos for sure! I am so close to pulling the trigger but for some reason I am hesitant I think mainly because of the issues with the previous Mobula 6. I'm really curious as to why they would have went with biblade props over triblades? I think I will wait a bit longer and see how they hold up overtime before I order. I really appreciate your feedback and thorough review Nick well done as always! 👍

I made a cable from an old 9v power supply and used a step down regulator to 4v to power the whoop when flashing the firmware, saves the worry of finding that one battery that dies for no reason out of the blue and loosing the board potentially.

I don't think I have a true preference, other than I don't like transitioning batteries to either...its a pain. I have the new 70mm Mobula 7 with the 400 Mw video and non-HD (for weight savings). It is fast and responsive, but I run out of room too soon in my backyard which is about 110' x 40' ...so this might be more suited for anyone with less space than Nick... and I like the gap/proximity capabilities of a 65mm. The HD Zero is light-years better than the analogue I'm on, so yes...this appears to be the direction that whoops are going... looks like it's time to get a new pair of goggles with HDZero receiver... what is the current state-of-the-art google for HDZero... or should I wait until the dust settles with all the new HD goggles hitting the market now?
@marcosrossetti1582

I'm also looking for the HDzero Goggles. I'd like to pull the trigger on the vtx module. But I still don't have an HDMI capable Goggles. So I'd have to buy that as well. So for me it seems that waiting for the new HDzero goggles seems to be right around the corner and should have the unmatched low latency only HDzero can offer.
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 2 жыл бұрын
HDZero is in the process of making their own goggle with hdzero built in and the capability of adding an analog module to it. I don't know when they will be out, but I suspect we will start to see prototypes and testing in the next 60days. Probably another 60 days to production and then launch. If that timeline is to far out, the only qualifier in a goggle to work with hdzero is hdmi input. The skyzone 04x and 04 lineup will work as well as the fatshark hdo2 and orcq goggles. I am not sure the eachine ev300o work but they should if they have hdmi input as they are likely made by skyzone. I am not aware of budget goggles that have hdmi input.

lol, like one of those memes. Now that you feel it you can't unfeel it. I wouldn't think we can tune it out, but I am often wrong. One thing I was thinking about exploring is using 96khz with esc braking on. Seems like that would offset the efficiency we get from 96khz.

Nick, what do you think about the Skyzone 04x2 goggles with the hdzero vrx? I had DJI system but sold it off. I still fly a ton of analog but with entry level box goggles. I figure with the sky zones I can still fly analog and make the jump back to digital with the hdzero vrx, too. I fly a lot of whoops mainly. I only fly my 5” occasionally….just not enough space.
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 2 жыл бұрын
I presume the 2 is the second edition of the o4x? If so that is what I have switched to for hdzero. The analog receiver isn't as good as rapidfire and I have found even the 60fps dvr is slightly inconsistent with frame recording which is important to me as making these videos I sync the dvr to flight audio from a second camera. Probably not that important to most.

I didn't know you also have some 35mm prop whoops. What FC do you use on them? Since you are making sure to test everything on this HDzero from different props and firmware before going to the 75mm frame with 40mm props, why not go in steps and test it on a 65mm frame with 35mm props biblade and triblade? This FC seems to fit, I'm not sure about the HDzero vtx though...
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 2 жыл бұрын
35mm props on a 65mm whoop isn't very popular, due to the restricted size of the FC, it pretty much has to be diamond shaped an not all the diamond shaped FC will work well as they can press on the whoop and then the prop strikes the other side of the whoop.

Could I put the hdzero vtx with crazybeef4 in a metor frame? I'm worried now about the heft of this Vs the viable weight for 0802. Do you have 1002 and will you try a build with them? Sorry for all the questions Nick.
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 2 жыл бұрын
I don't have plans to try 1002 motors on 31mm props. I don't think it will turn out well. I think the minimum prop on 1002 is 40mm. I have a video on the rcinpower 1002 motors. This new aio will likely fit in about any whoop frame. Its smaller than all but the crossed shaped aio. As to thinner, I don't think it is, but when the are thinner the difference in weight is marginal

Yes, I have seen that, mostly I experienced that early after release and not so much lately. If the connection is loose we can tighten it up with a very tiny knife edge, the connection as a split in it that we can spread out to tighten up the connection. for those that are to tight we often need to spread the distance between the two "pin" connections.
