Saw the topper video,interesting all good machines but definitely horses for courses. Would be good to compare flail with rotary topper because a good rotary topper seem to be under estimated especially if shaft driven and slip clutch protected. Enjoy your videos.

Apart from replacing the odd post at one of my current clients properties, I've only ever done this twice. Once was at Hungerford marsh, the other, was Chinnor hill. The previous was a lovely summers day, the latter was a very snowy winter. Loved it both times! All was done by hand, Chinnor hill was solid chalk, hard digging, but solid fixing!

Dip the ends of the posts in old engine oil for a few days

I recommend making a top hat for the banger to hold the posts so you don’t need to pull them about with the iron bar

Yeah, I do agree. But, I don’t mind using the bar in softer ground like this. It’s what I’m used to. We might make one at some point though.

Another great video guys I can highly recommend a product for restoring all plastic trims it's called owatrol it's not the cheapest product out there but it's amazing I have been using it for a couple of years now doing car detailing

get your self a Plastic drumb 50 gal. then put old oil and a bit of diesel 5% cut the top off the drumb and soak your posts for an hour or so to the ground level it works as well

A few months ago my post office box key would not go in the hole , I thought I'd forgotten to pay the annual fee and had been locked out , went inside to see and the guy just came out with a can of wd40 , quick squirt and all good again . Re. the flail toppers , to be honest I thought the logic tow behind was overpriced but handy for those who don't own a tractor .

Nice one James & Max The topper video was good if you can could you compare the quad and logic flail to a compact tractor with a pto flail including fuel usage comparison would think 2 petrol engines would use more than one diesel engine I may be wrong Thanks again enjoy the rest of the weekend

The posts maybe guaranteed for 15yrs but the best your get is direct replacements. No labour to sort the mess out, we've got miles of rotted posts and we're certainly not replacing them with Tanalisled. We tried chestnut but they're a waste of time also, Creosote is the only option especially on wet ground like yours. 👍👌
