Hey mysterious friend, whom I don't know your name. I'm enjoying your vids. Keep it up. I wonder if your socket stack is allowing the carb to suck air through the top. Is the little boot more of an air seal? Sticking with factory is usually a safer bet. If you use that 3hp flathead for anything in the future, you should go back to factory carb and gas tank. They are simple and effective.

I definitely feel like with a stock carb that motor would do amazing. Also I was pretty sure that the little rubber grommet on top was just to keep trash out but you may have a point, and that may have been part of the issue. Thanks for watching!
