More rust on the FLOODED Corvair: Cutting out the fender corners & finding NEW problems!

On today's video, we're on part 2 of rust repair on the FLOODED 1965 Corvair. We cut out the left front fender corner and rebuilt the inner wheel well liner. However we found a few more problems along the way.

You’ve got skills, Sean! Nice fab work and body work on the front driver’s corner. If your parts car source has a good front nose, just cut it out and bring it home!

@@AutoAnatomy I always wanted to build a Lakewood , with wood grain on the side and a surf board on top . We had Corvair and when I was a kid in the 80s , my brother is the reason I love Corvairs.

Since you are going to see about some parts from other "Vairs(sad to hear as I need a 'Vair) then see what he has that can replace the nose piece. Clark's had a nose piece eons ago but they were so slow selling they didn't make a complete one again. It would have been perfect for your 'Vair though. One thing that is free to do but takes time and a bit of patience is flushing out the side rails that go from front to rear just beneath the doors. They have flaps(most are missing I bet) that you can flush water through them and get all the crap out of them. They are infamous for rusting because people don't take care of the Vair the way it needs to be taken care of.

Another setback Shawn, but you will get there eventually. Rebuilding a badly rusted Corvair is a tough job. It will probably be better than new when GM made it! Look at a donor car for the front pieces you need and compare time versus money and labor plus parts.
