More scenes of the Always Sunny cast breaking character

More scenes of the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" cast breaking character that made it into the final episode. I was pleasantly surprised at how Part 1 blew up over the last few weeks and so I knew I had to make another one. A great big thanks not just to everyone who watched Part 1, but actually contributed to the making of Part 2 by pointing out some of the breaks I missed which were then added to the final product. This time, be sure to watch for the reactions of some of the background characters as well.

@@axch2983 He would agree with you lol. He may not be the best actor in a technical sense, but I think he really undersells how damn funny he is. I’m often left laughing hysterically at some goofy little thing Mac does(think like the defeated “I got salsa on my shirt”). I also think he’s too humble about how well he sells Mac’s sadness. Idk I guess I’m saying I think he’s very good and I wish he recognized it more. 💖

In many or even most of these I don't see how they are "breaking" character. It's part of the characters behavior that they sometimes laugh at each other, sometimes turn around in frustration, smile, etc.

The characters in Sunny lack the self-awareness to appreciate the absurdity or comedy of the situation they’re in. Almost everything is played completely straight. Plus, in a lot of these the person breaking is obviously trying to turn away or hide their expression from the camera. If smiling or laughing made sense in character, there would be no need to do that. The scene at 0:21 is one of the only exceptions. They are clearly joking about throwing knives at Dee; which is why Dennis, Charlie and Mac are all smiling and not even attempting to conceal their faces.

OP you seem to have a pretty generous definition of “breaking character”, like, I don’t think every time an actor smiles means they’ve broken character idk. A lot of these just left me scratching my head like “what could OP possibly consider a break in this one?”

Because every clip has someone grinning, smirking or chuckling when they shouldn't be. It's just a different expression from a scripted laugh. You've opened my eyes though, maybe the title is too, IDK, not specific enough? If I ever do a part 3 it'll be called "The cast trying not to laugh" or something.

Anyway I guess just had a different definition of breaking character, but you’re right and using the right term for it. I can relate to that last one. I don't care how much knowledge and experience you have, women are distractable. Save for the fact that I don't want a person wouldn't know what it's like to work a double shift running heavy equipment telling me how the body works. Call me sexist They know everything about its function except how it performs in practice Its hard enough to get people to take you seriously in everyday life. Its much, much worse having to pay for a doctor's visit and have them fail to validate your health needs. At least 7 visits not feeling like they get what I'm trying to tell them in the least Its like having to barter for their skills. Better just to walk out of that damned place like you got subpar restaurant service
