We have had continuous 120 mph winds inland before,it isnt unusual. Knowing how,completely off base the met office is, i shall subscribe and watch you for a while as you seem to have much more sense

Which way is the wind blowing from? That's kind of important High winds normally from a southerly direction why is that? Cold winds nearly always from the north why is that?

Why is the air stiller when the sun is shining yet the winds pickup as soon as the sun goes behind a cloud? And yet why is it then predominantly normal for the daytime to have stronger winds than at night? And why do the winds pick up just before sunset only to quieten down half an hour after?
