honestly, you just need 1 wireless router for a HDB flat. place it centrally, like on top of your fridge. try just using one. and the channel frequency is transparent to your devices, so it doesn't matter.

Im using eero pro 6 with inbuilt with zigbee hub. Eero uses a single SSID that allows devices to live on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz radio frequency. This ensures your devices are able to move along eero's mesh efficiently.

Curious question , seeing how you designed your home, does it mean you don't intend to have kids in the future ? Or if kids are in the plan, you guys will move again ?
@NiJiaCasa2 жыл бұрын
Neither plans are concrete. We plan to take it as it comes; if we have kids then we believe we can part the room in suitable way (break the master into 2 part) or move after 5years.. If there isn't, then there isn't. In short, we didn't plan for it as we didn't want uncertain future to affect our current desired way of living.

thats the limitation of the current mesh wifi tech, its meant to distribute data connection not really to maintain a wireless lan network. U'll have greater success if you change to a classic single router with access point set up

After various trial and error, changing it to a single router does seem like the way to go. I will give it a try and update if that works better! 👍🏻👍🏻

Yo bro. regarding ur issue, are u using wired or wireless backcore? I suspect 1 of your nodes is dropping off the mesh intermittently.

It's using wireless. I suspect that might be case too but whenever I check the router login, the device doesn't seem to have disconnected while the Google home is still not connected into a group
@kml32362 жыл бұрын
@@NiJiaCasa its likely intermittent and does not show as disconnected on router app. U may need to relocate this node to test, if u know which one is causing the issue.

@kml32362 жыл бұрын
@@NiJiaCasa This issue is quite common for wireless backcore. Its challenging sometimes to find the ideal spots in the house with power point n good enuff to extend the mesh. It actually explains why ur problem goes away if u remove 1 mesh node because your google speakers will connect to ur remaining stable mesh node. Slower is better than unstable in this case.

how many routers serving ip addresses? This issue seems to be that the devices are given options to choose ip addresses from 2 different routers

Each device is automatically allocated with their own unique IP address. Likewise to the router. Not too sure if you can get the 2 router on the same IP

Hi i do diy my home network systems how many routers are the in your home? Does your devices get disconnected easily? Are the mesh system connected via wifi or lan line with each other?
@Farisworks952 жыл бұрын
For example im using velop linksys mesh but in singapore context and how your house is design especially with the big glass door in your house does affect the wireless signals and thus causing intermittent disconnection that alot of the apps don’t pick up. For my linksys mesh is on wired backhual and on brige mode and my main linksys router is just running as per normal.
@NiJiaCasa2 жыл бұрын
I'm using 2 mesh out of the 3 mesh. It's a wifi connection. Not direct lan. It's using Netgear nighthawk mesh router. Does glass affect the signal as well? I didn't know that! 😱
@Farisworks952 жыл бұрын
@@NiJiaCasa yes glass affects signal too like my study room uses glass door and sometimes get intermittent cut off and the signal speed drops when door closes. U may wan to try lan connection for your mesh system if they support. Does your home have cat6 lan points installed?
