The more I listen to the RYTM the more I feel at home with the sounds it produces. Such amazing quality core techno sounds. I can only imagine just how much fun it is transforming and performing on this machine.

Thank you for the great in depth sound design tutorial. For me it is honestly the most helpful so far on YT. I was searching especially for sidechaining. I also like how you are using the different machines in such a creative way, so that you are able to create totally versatile sounds even from the tom machines! I am deciding now if I get the syntakt or the rytm. And one thing I liked about the digital syntakt is that you can put almost every machine on every track position. But with your aproach the rytm seems to be nearly as flexible in regards of sound desingn! Thanks a lot! Great work!
@audioreakt Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I actually sold my rytm and will get a syntakt soon. Mainly because for my workflow the rytm is overkilled as I rarely use the scene/perf mode, even the sequencer I usually resample in Ableton and sequenced in Ableton, or usually just do basic sequence the syntakt can manage. Also I rnever use the sample part so yeah... Syntakt got almost all the machine of the rytm, so it's perfect for me

Thanks for the great vid! I have the mki and i wonder if there are any benefits in using your triglock sidechain trick instead of using the built-in compressor with a lowpass? Only thing I can think of is that it allows you to use the compressor for general glueing instead of creating sidechain pump.
@audioreakt2 жыл бұрын
but the master compressor will affect all the track no , if you want to apply the effect just to a couple of track ? Plus you cannot adjust the sidechain pumping effect per track no ? Maybe I didn't understood what ypu mean 😅

It’s nice to have a channel doing such a good sound design in this device. I’m trying to figure out what is better for me. An Analog Rytm mkt 2 or the digitakt + the syntak. I need one or the other to create my own drum samples in the studio.. I work a lot with sound design and in the DAW I usually use synth and sample layers to make my own drum sounds. When I say digitakt + syntak it’s because I’m thinking about syncing the MIDI of the two devices and layering the synth (of syntak) with samples (of the digitakt). Example: in digitakt a clap sample and in the syntak a synth model clap. I’m trying to figure out which choice has more sound design power. In the Analog Rytm mkt 2 I can resample… but in the digitakt + syntak it looks like there is a bigger range of sounds for me to tweak and experiment with. What would be your suggestion? Thank you!
@audioreakt10 ай бұрын
the rytm seems first a better choice because you have all in one and just need to learn one machine, biut you are also limited to 8 track where with the other combo you will have more track...also synth are pretty limited in the rytm you have the dual vco but that's it... so I would probably go for digitakt+syntakt , especially that i think digitakt have midi track that you can use later to serquenced other synth or machine... I am scared that with the rytm alone you might be limited in number of track available. I will go with the rytm only if it's coupled with another machine/synth to make synth sounds.

Cool video! Any chance you could make a Drumcode-style preset pack for the Rytm? That would be great!
@audioreaktАй бұрын
I dont have it anymore, I switch for the syntakt, and i don't think it will fit current drumcode style, as it is very modern sounding. except the kick that can be use as base and layer later, for the rest is raw analog sound where drumcode is more very process sound.

I'm considering finally getting my first piece of hardware and the Rytm looks real fun. I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger though, since there's so many things that look amazing, like the TR-8S. Do you have a recommendation for first hardware?
@audioreakt2 жыл бұрын
I don't have the tr8s but the tr6s and it's really great too. The tr8s is more versatile than rytm, I would say the rytm handle samples/sampling better than the tr8s, the tr8s is more oriented performance although rytm is good for that too. The analog rytm have a very specific sound that might not please everyone or would say lack a bit of versatility. I loev the rytm for the kick, toms and hats but just make sure you really like these sounds because it's a big investment.
