Nope, if it does than you can kiss it goodbye in your common lives. There was a whole bunch of great stuff that went to the medical industry that either died there or is slowly disappearing such as rejuvenating tonics, galvanic therapy, sound therapy, light therapy, colour therapy (who here actually knows the effects of colour on the body, should have been invested in architecture), water therapy etc. It needs to go the the commercial sector so that ordinary people can use it or to the game and hobby sector.
@MikeslyMontague4 жыл бұрын
New technology should always focus on consumer-level products. That's the best way for it to see interest, development, funding, applications, etc. Imagine how far behind VR would be if the original Oculus Rift was only designed for medicine and not entertainment. Now, it's come far enough to be used for both. Imagine how advanced electroencephalography would be if early game consoles had even just a *little* of it, and it wasn't only being used in hospitals for epilepsy.
@kevinschwartz81512 жыл бұрын
I think it'd be better to make it commercial and then let hospitals use it. If it only goes to hospitals it will be way pricier. There are some goods that are the exact same thing that hospitals use but because it isn't listed as "medical" it is way cheaper!

Helical screen volumetric displays, such as is proposed for the dejarik board, have been around for awhile; a German patent for one (DE2622802C2, though it uses a laser, rather than a projector) was filed the year before Star Wars came out. Voxon's patent used in the VX1 is based on a speaker, replacing the diaphragm with a projection screen. Patent US4130832A, filed in 1977 (Star Wars!), proposes using a speaker to oscillate a mirror for a 3D display.

These days kids only have video games and they really don't care about cartoons and toys for fun anymore. It all about video games. I think this technology could revolutionize the type of entertainment our children consume for fun in the future. If it's like an interactive tv show / game that has a playable aspect to actual toys on the side, similar the rpg game strategy of those card games that were popular in the early 2000s, I think that would restore the joy of childhood memories for future generations. They will remember it just as fondly as my generation did with our childhood entertainment.

Kinda. But the entertainment use case creates the buzz and instantly reaches ALL the medical staffs around the world. They have two goals Make 1st generation good enough(the best option on the market) for medical use. Make 1st generation good enought for a gaming experience hype. Here price doesnt matter, since they essentially create it for influencers, youtubers, streamers, pro gamers. And they either get it for free, rent it or simply can spare mere 9k dollars. After the initial showcase and hype, yes, i agree, they should focus on medical. Now that they have a foot in the door and are known by the medical field. *But without the free entertainment buzz, marketing their device to medics would eat up an ABSURD amounbt of the budget. As marketings usually does. Srsly, it sickly costing.*

I have one designed where the photons from 360 micro projectors are just out of sync to the opposing ones thus in the point their frequencies clash there is a point or as you would currently call a pixel. You use these out-synced points to build a framework for a 360 degree hologram. This tech has been around for some time and is not reliant on fast moving hardware blades. It is pure light to light.

I would love to use this tech for parametric modeling in Solidworks or Inventor. I think it would drastically improve visualization, and reduce the amount of time required to produce models.

This would be very helpful while working on your car, imagine having a 3d hologram of the left front control arm assembly and being able to see what's needed to take off certain parts. Thanks for sharing and as always keep building👍

You can definitely see the potential for medical imaging. And then there's always CAD computer aided drafting. But holy crap looks like the sky's the limit with this type of display.Just think what the movies will look like in the future you may have single-handedly saved Hollywood. I'm just going to go ahead and say it mind blown, 🤯

It’s gonna be cool if this gets to a commercial price some day, like $200 and you can send holographic messages to your friends and family, or have real time holo calls where you can see each other’s holograms. When not in use it can be a nice display piece showing like an x- wing or whatever you want, like a PC wallpaper.

EVOLICIOUS His question was when, and obviously, in the future, they would certainly find a way to miniaturize the size, into which it can be put inside a mobile device. The way you dropped the "garbage" makes you seem so negative about this whole idea. And it fits your profile pic as well, hahaha.
