I lost my dad last fall. Your video reminded me of the effort I put into his last hunting and fishing trips. This is a great video thank you for sharing.

Thank you for watching. We’re glad that you liked it. Sorry for the loss of your dad. It sounds like he was a great hunting and fishing partner. The time that we get to spend with our families in the woods and on the water is never enough! We try to make the best of every minute, hour, and day that we do get. The memories that we make together always stay with us.

Looks like unit 2B. Hunted there last fall. First rifle. Rained early on second day and took out all tracks. The amount of new track, deer and elk, after that was amazing. Saw scores of does and a few small bucks but did not score. They move alot at night and just before dawn shooting light. Put in for 2B this season.

We love unit 2B!! We grew up hunting that unit our whole lives as it is located just 30 minutes from our home town. This was actually in a unit that is a little south and west of 2B but is really similar in lots of ways. Way less deer though!!! Good luck to you in this years draw!!

@@luckyridgeoutdoors99 My hunting partner drew 2B deer second rifle.. Last season I hunted west of Navajo. Came down from Ignacio. Would you be so kind as to offer some areas to scout 2B. It is huge.

Great stuff. I'm trying to figure out where you were. I gotta say eastern Utah, Roosevelt, or Duchesne area. Well anyway, that's hunting. Sorry your pops didn't score.

Thank you for watching and we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed it. This hunt actually took place in NW New Mexico. We knew going into the hunt that it was going to be extremely difficult to get dad a big buck, but as you can see, we had a lot of fun trying.

It’s tough to do preseason scouting in 2B because the majority of the deer that you will be hunting on that second rifle hunt will be migratory deer that come out of the high country in Colorado. If your looking for a mature buck I would spend time hunting in the Bancos and Cabresto canyons. The deer drop down and cross through those canyons as they migrate to the lower country around Navajo Lake.

I know big antlers are rewarding but you can’t eat them wouldn’t it be more enjoyable to bring some lean buck meat back home to da family I’m just saying
@luckyridgeoutdoors99 Жыл бұрын
You’re 100% right about the antler thing, but we do love big antlers. This hunt was really about just spending time together in camp and in the woods. We really didn’t have to kill something for it to be a success. Thank you so much for watching.
