Very well explanation of Servant Leadership. Recommend reading Robert K. Greenleaf's essay (1970) "The Servant as Leader". Very informative for a new leader.

Just learned that my uni student government has an annual budget of 140k, and spent all of it on paying themselves

4:12 Or it's because the types of people who seek power and are successfully able to gather it are the people who win when they apply to school positions. Not necessarily because they are good people, or the right people for those positions, but because they are good at convincing and organizing people to place themselves into power. The cause-effect relationship, that people who become class presidents are greatly successful later in life because of that position, seems arbitrary. 4:35 He's calling Rockefeller these things: The cartoon villain oil baron monopoly man who felt victims of The Colorado Massacre deserved it. But he was a class president or something when he went to school, so he's really cool actually.

For someone in my high school to become president and have a horrible speech and still be president all they had to do is buy donuts

I ran for VP this year. The other 2 canidates were running as a joke, but I had been planning this for two years. One out of the two kids running as a joke won.

@@elicarlson7682 We do election videos. Just be honest, accept that you can't give them every want (and neither can the other canidates) because the finale choice is not up to you. What makes you stand out? Did you win any awards for teamwork or leadership? Just be true to yourself. I ran for President this year, evem worse than my VP campaign. Another canidate tried to blackmail me, and they said that they won the election, even though I had 10x the supporters they did?! Best of luck to you!

Thats def not true. I ran in highschool and I barely had friends and was elected Secretary because nobody ran. I also was just elected Senate Chairperson as a Senior in college and apart of the Judicial Council and I only won because nobody was running for them. You just have to apply yourself.
