gold backed reserve was common elsewhere, the US didnt pioneer or make it popular but they were one of the first to not gold back their currency, courtesy of Charles De Gaul who saw the US printing cash haphazardly, who then proceeded to ship all the USD in France back to US for gold, nearly emptying the US gold reserve. Immediately the US discontinued the practice of gold backing, now USD value is linked to the artificial demand generated by the use of USD for oil trade

not unfair or untrue, it’s known as the Charge at Krojanty. now if by tank you mean a IFV? absolutely true, the polish cavalry strongly believed their own crap and charged 800 IFVs and their accompanying infantry. they were slaughtered, but it did buy enough time for polish high command to order a retreat and evacuate 2 other units.

It was also nigh-impossible to reasonably make, let alone MASS PRODUCE. Like I cannot fathom how much that shit must have cost to create in 1944/45. I cannot hope to calculate just how many Deutchmarks were spent to manufacture ONE OF THOSE. There is a reason it is never mentioned even as it's weapon is the ancestor of the Javelin Missile System.

The Germans were actually the largest users of horse-drawn carriages during the war, they couldn't build vehicles fast enough to maintain their supply lines. The Polish actually did use cavalry/charge with cavalry, but never against tanks (at least intentionally). The main tactic for the uhlans (basically dragoons at this point) was to use their horses to outmaneuver the Germans, dismount, and then engage, in the case with tanks using anti-tank rifles (which weren't very effective by that time). There were recorded instances of actual cavalry charges, but mostly against mechanized infantry (they were successful more often than not). The battle of Mokra did have Polish cavalry (and tankettes) accidentally encounter German tanks due to heavy smoke obscuring vision, but the engagement was minimal and the resulting confusion led to the German armor retreating rather than fight disoriented.
@Pogram1
@Pogram1 2 жыл бұрын
Anti-tank rifles were VERY potent weapon throughout the war. The Polish wz. 35 ATR could penetrate up to 33mm of armour at 100m, soviet PTRS-41 could penetrate up to 40mm at 100m. PzII had up to 35mm and PzIII up to 30mm of armour. Heck, even the Panther had 16mm of armour in places. That's what first Shutzen, the skirts, were for: to counter ATRs.
@Pogram1
@Pogram1 2 жыл бұрын
As for cavalry: Polish cavalry did charge Germans, but only infantry, camps, and sometimes convoys with light vehicles. Horses were mainly a mode of transport. They were used by Germany and USSR too. There were also formations that used bicycles. Not motorbikes, regular bikes. En masse. The mechanisation and motorisation of Wehrmacht is a myth.
@Deukish
@Deukish 2 жыл бұрын
@@Pogram1 >Anti-tank rifles were VERY potent weapon throughout the war I'd need to see actual numbers to believe that. Seems to me they would be more of a psychological weapon than a practical one. 100m is very short for an effective range against armor, since most tanks could accurately engage at up to 1km. There's also the fact that an ATR round is essentially a large bullet, not an explosive or shaped charge like most other anti-armor weapons. You'd need to score a direct hit on a vital area or crew to incapacitate it (I suppose shrapnel could be dangerous for crew, but not nearly as lethal as turning the turret into a pressure cooker).
@Pogram1
@Pogram1 2 жыл бұрын
@@DeukishATRs, as well as the later infantry AT weapons, were utilized in ambushes. And visibility from a tank, especially buttuned up, is very poor. Also you don't need to blow up tank to dissable it. Damaged suspension, engine, turret ring or gun or even optics might force a tank crew to abandon it. Read about Tiger 131 and how it was captured.
@Dim2134
@Dim2134 2 жыл бұрын
@@Pogram1 Being fair, they were very effective at their particular job which was to penetrate armor and potentially deal a disabling blow to a tank with an accurate shot, that being the purpose of the ambush tactic to be able to hit your shot in the right place. However, outside of that specific instance being used as an ambush weapon both of you would probably agree that they were not an ideal choice comparative to a field gun but they were one of yhe cheapest and easiest adding to viability by sheer necessity of having at least something. In my own hypothesis I would imagine that they performed best against the more lightly armored vehicles as that would be more effective at a longer distance. Congrats if you decided to read this essay. But tldr biggest benefit, they were cheaper options than a tank or a field gun which made them viable enough to use in numbers. Similar to the sten gun with the British.

The BEF survived Dunkirk because, 1. The French soldiers who set up a defensive line slowing down the Germans. 2. The Luftwaffe overestimated their capabilities in destroying the BEF (although they tried as hard as they could.) 3. Germany was afraid of their thin supply line being severed so they ordered their troops to stop and wait for reinforcements, this order was canceled when they realized it was a mistake.

Also, the BEF was not 'ineffective'. The assault required to attempt to fully destroy it after it had fallen back into a small position it was now digging into, before it could retreat, could potentially have been ruinous to the general assault on France itself. The assault on France already, with hindsight, looks like a knife-edge hail mary, and if it had gotten tripped up even slightly at so many points it could/would have bogged down into a slugging match with France that Germany absolutely wasn't ready for or able to sustain at that time. Germany achieved the sudden conquest of France with mechanized, mobile breakthrough warfare their opponents weren't ready for. Throwing all that into the shitter to stop and have a headbutting competition with the BEF (the guys with one of the slowest but most heavily armoured tanks the allies fielded), basically exactly what France and Britain had been explicitly building their forces to do in the first place, is a great way to maximize German losses and potentially botch the conquest of France. For the Germans, it turns out far better for the BEF to bugger off with a quickness than to be forced to fight to the last.

The British had a fairly good understanding of what war might look like before World War 2, but they outright didn't have the economy to fund an army, navy, and airforce that could protect France, North Africa, and Southeast Asia, which were all likely flashpoints before the war. Britain thus had no choice but to cut corners, and that meant the land forces got the short end of the stick, even before bringing in problems like a lack of skilled workers who could weld tanks. The understanding in Britain was that they wouldn't have a fully ready war economy before 1942, so basically everything before that time was a stop-gap measure. In places where Britain concentrated its resources, like air planes and ship technology, the British still fared reasonably well, but everything else was always going to struggle before the US made up for the shortfalls. Germany also had serious problems understanding the future of warfare though: most of their pre-war submarines were inadequate short-range types, and Germany never developed their submarines enough to actually cut Britain off, even as Germany spent an enormous quantity of resources on the navy. Nor did Germany impress in Africa, so obsessed was Rommel with tactical victories over strategic considerations, which left him without water or oil when he needed both most.

For all the bullshit online.....Poland wasn't 'abandoned', France and Britain had just begun their armament programs and were *literally incapable* of launching any kind of effective assault on Germany. France and Britain weren't ready to fight at that time. Germany knew this. When you look at what the Germans were doing in WWII, you can see that they were constantly attacking and invading their enemies as quickly as possible before those enemies could build up enough to crush Germany. The conquest of France was launched, and was one of the biggest gambles in history, because Germany literally could not wait any longer. Left alone, France and Britain would be more than able to build and economically sustain a force the Germans could never hope to stop. Germany then had to turn around and invade the USSR, before the same thing could happen in the East. Germany finally got absolutely squashed by the USA, which it physically could not invade to stop them building a force Germany couldn't hope to stand up to. Much of Germany's WWII success comes from having to desperately sucker punch immensely economically powerful forces before they could get ready, and run around continually punching and kicking them while they tried to get up from the floor like some kind of fucked up comedy skit. Then the USA busts through the wall in a tank, demanding to know who else is in this 'Axis gang' with Japan who just slapped them in the face.

@@blackmark7165 Their development of SMGs is also ass-backwards. While most countries went into war with nice, high-ish quality guns, and later simplified to make the production cheaper (a good example being US going from a Thompson to M3), UK didn't have submachine guns before entering the war, so they made Sten, in basically no time at all, only later to develop nicer guns like Sterling.

@@kenjethao7774 contrary to the popular narrative, German tank where not impregnable juggernauts that could slaughter Anything they came across. Personally I would go as far to say that most french tanks (with the exception of light tanks like the FT17) could probably beat a German tank (things like the panzer III and IV) in a one on one engagement. However the Germans would concentrate their armour into one spot and fight the enemy with superior numbers, taking advantage of their superior communications to coordinate their attacks on a level the french tanks couldn’t match. Getting back to your point. Yes, the Polish where fairly effective. The panzer IIIs and IVs where quite rare by this stage and the Germans where relying heavily on the panzer I, II, and 38t (As well as various half tracks and wheeled vehicles.) believe during this time there where only 20 panzer IIIs in the whole German army, although my facts could be wrong there.

The Sturmtiger is indeed a real German WWII AVF. Due to the the Wehrmact's obsessive-compulsive need to have an assault gun variant of every single tank in service, someone thought it would be a great idea to mount a 380mm rocket-propelled mortar based on a naval depthcharge projector to a Tiger chassis. The idea being it would lob a stupid amount of explosives downrange to demolish entire buildings in a single shot. In reality it's main function was to serve as an interesting burntout wreck for allied soldiers to gawk at and take pictures in front of after the slow and overweight vehicle was outflanked and destroyed, or the crew scuttled it after expending the mere 14 rounds of ammunition it carried.* Only 18 were made. I don't know if the external loading of the gun after firing thing is true or not, though it did have a specially designed crane and roof hatch to assist in loading the massive projectiles into the vehicle. *technically it could carry 16 if one projectile was loaded into the gun and another was in the loading tray.

They had been driving pretty much nonstop since the beginning of the invasion, were exhausted and loosing more and more machines due to mechanical failure. Combined with the aforementioned overstretching, and German high command was concerned that a French counterattack could cut the advancing forces off and encircle them. Of course, there were no French forces to do that, but they didn't know that. So, a halt order was given to give the men time to rest and recuperate, fix damaged equipment, maintain their vehicles and bring supplies to the front. Meanwhile, Göring assured Hitler that the BEF could be destroyed from the air. And while they didn't achieve that objective, they still killed thousands of soldiers, sunk hundreds of ships and forced the British to abandon all their equipment. So to say the Germans just 'let the British go' is just factually wrong. Hitler even realized what was happening after some time and ordered to resume the advance.

The faction you called Polish is actually German. There are two german factions in the game. Oberkommando West and Wehrmacht Ostheer. The reason for this is because of the dlc practices. 5:45 I honestly would like to push back on this. The German plan was, I'll admit, extremely good. The French and British were occupied in the Low Countries desperately trying to reinforce the Dutch and Belgians who were suffering from a massive influx of Fallschirmjäger (aka, German Paratroopers) in surprising places. The Allied forces were also struggling to get to where they needed to be because the roads were completely blocked by fleeing civilians. Then, the German army made the famous thrust through the Ardennes. This resulted in massive confusion that, even nowadays with a good commsnet, I'd argue would be extremely difficult to cut through. Now, was there systemic failure among the Allies? Yes, but I'd argue it was mostly in French high command. The French general in charge of the section the Panzers struck was a complete idiot. He didn't really believe the tanks were coming through the Ardennes, and he didn't send bombers to slow them down. This lost the war for the French. The Germans punched through and the French then showed their inferior tactics in many battles. So you are partly right in that the Allied generals didn't learn anything from WWI. The French didn't. The British, however, had learned a hell of a lot. At the start of the war, they actually were more mechanized than any army, even the Germans. They'd bought German propaganda that the Nazis had entirely mechanized the army (which they hadn't.) The British took this false information, looked at the state of their industry and ability to buy arms, and, considering the resistance they'd face if they imposed a draft, decided to go all in on mechanization. They'd focus most of their effort into the RAF, Royal Navy, and mechanizing and training their ground forces. They figured that since France was on the continent and had more people, they'd provide the numbers and the British would basically be the elite ground forces. This did not work as planned. This line of thinking led the British to be out in Belgium fighting the diversionary attack when the real attack through the Ardennes hit. This attack, unlike in the last war, wasn't to drive on to Paris, but to form a "cauldron" around the main British and French forces. Most of the battles that the Panzer forces fought were against surprised French who did not expect to be fighting. French response was slow because most of their commanders were lackadaisical idiots, and most British forces were prevented from turning around because they were locked in combat with the distraction forces and there was still that previously mentioned ocean of refugees. The Allies were able to get their shit together on occasion. Usually, when the Germans and British fought, the Germans would be impressed by the resistance put up by the island apes. There was also this one French guy (Charlie something? Probably never did anything else the rest of the war) who was able to do a semi-successful counter-attack, but it was too late. As for why Dunkirt happened the way it did, Hitler decided to micromanage. Hitler was, in my opinion, crazy, stupid, and at the time relied too much upon the advice of a fawning, preening, narciscistic dope fiend to ever really be an effective commander. Or an effective painter. Yet he did things like fighting the battle of Stalingrad from his Bavarian bunker while looking at a street map. Of course, this is my interpretation of events. If you would like to see how I came to my conclusion, I mostly based my appreciation off of The Rise of Germany by James Holland (and its sequel) and the Time Ghost History show WWII. I also got much of my impressions of how clogged the roads were by reading the relevant section of Princes at War by Deborah Cadbury. If you read this (which is unlikely because the longer a KZbin comment is, the greater the likelihood the writer is completely insane) I'd like to thank you for your time. Whether you are Paul or someone else.

In addition, the early German successes were not actually because of the extent of mechanisation or the quality of their armour - they were, frankly, dogshit paper tanks compared to what France, Britain and even Poland were fielding - but because of how they used them. The French and Polish spread their tanks across the front line to try and get maximum coverage, whereas the Germans better understood the principles of mobile warfare and knew that a concentrated hammer-blow of armour would crush through even a technologically superior enemy, especially with the element of surprise, as the French refused to believe that the Germans could drive tanks through the Ardennes until long after it had actually happened.

Hyperbolic time chamber doesn't affect the speed on your body's changes, it affects time itself. Example: there's a fighting tournament tomorrow and you still need some time to train. You enter the chamber. The span of 24 hours outside is 12 months inside. You still have a clock and stable food, also can exit whenever. you have 365 days to spend on a healthy training program. When you exit, it will be the day of the tournament, but to you, it would've taken a year to get to that day

The Germans were also confused and in complete disbelief by how rapidly they were actually able to advance, sometimes advancing so quickly they couldn't even report their position or receive orders. The blitzkrieg was so successful that it was causing leadership to doubt whether it not it was a trap in some cases as supply lines were pushed to the absolute limit. There was a lot of trepidation about pushing Dunkirk as they were starting to hit actual resistance, not knowing at first it was a complete evacuation.

The myth of cavalry charging tanks was probably because the Polish light cavalry had several different light anti-tank guns. They worked more like mobile infantry in that they would ride to a spot, set up an ambush, and then ride away before the enemy mounted an effective response.

Polish army, during ww2 had huge cavalery percentage (around 10%), however this cavalery was mostly dragoon style cav. This means, despite being cavalery, they just rode up to battlefield and then dismounted to fight on foot. The mith comes from a polish cav ambush on german infantry, that later got reinforced by german tanks.

29:00 The entire DBZ makes sense, IF you understand the canon science of that universe. Its not real IRL obviously but actually is logical in its own context. The short answer is that all lifeforms in the universe posses Ki, a form of "life energy." For the majority of sentient life this is meaningless as they do not use or even are aware of Ki. However special and hidden techniques can optimise ones body to increase the amount of Ki they can store within their body. There are also genetic traits or mutations that allow inherently high Ki but that is different topic. However the benefits of Ki is the opposite of what you compared to IRL. Where humans use energy to empower strong muscles to do things. Ki is the reverse, it makes the body strong, so you can do more things. That and it is heavily suggested that Ki can do anything, so long as you can imagine something and have a valid technique. However that is a whole different topic. This is why characters are able to copy each others techniques. About the body though its why at the time *Teen Gohan* is the strongest Z fighter, however because he focuses on education due to strong pressure from his Mum, by the time he is an adult he is a lot weaker than his teen self. As without training you capacity for Ki decreases, what again due to the weird reverse nature, makes you body weaker. It is exponential, you get better faster, or worse faster than IRL training. That is why doing X amount of training in "Less IRL Time." Benefits DBZ characters, even though they do age the same time. E.g. 1 IRL day = 1 Month, you still age 1 month, so it does have limits and not OP, also in the show the do have rest days, the part where goku trains teen gohan to beat cell, he stops training weeks in advance of the fight to recover.

26:25 Poland actually had cavalry units, except they were armed with machine guns and AT rifles. They were used more like mechanized infantry, using the horses just for moving around. They were fairly effective as well, because they could move through forests and difficult terrain faster than regular mechanized infantry. The “charging at tanks” thing was a German propaganda, but it had a grain of truth to it. There was actually a cavalry charge, against infantry. It was successful as well, routing the German regiments they charged at. But some time later they were reinforced by armored division that massacred most of the cavalry unit. Some Italian journalist arrived at the scene of the battle and was told that “polish cavalry charged at tanks”.

Or a any hill with more than a 45 degree slope, or most rivers deeper than 2 meters since horses can swim and tanks can’t (at least during the early war period, which is what we’re talking about.) once the water gets above the tanks Hull the engine is fucked. This was followed by the US dropping the gold standard, so now all the gold the government owns is not being used for jack sh*t, but our tax money still goes towards maintaining and securing the gold vaults... which have no purpose. The US has been sending military aid to Ukraine for months now, but recently we started doing so as an official lend lease agreement. This means that all material sent to Ukraine is a loan and must be payed off in the future. This means the longer Ukraine stays at war, the more resources we suck out of Ukraine after they win, keeping them in debt to us for generations to come, but decreasing the US economy's inflation dramatically.

This is the only explanation because the Germans had multiple opportunities to cut off the retreat of the British and they mostly just stood there and did nothing. This is in stark contrast with the absolute precision that was used to take out important targets during the rest of the invasion of France and the Low Lands. It's also in line with the behaviour of Germans throughout most of the early war where for instance they gave honourable funerals to British soldiers on the occupied island of Guernsey.

in terms of the income increase as your territory expands isnt actually that accurate the game has 3 resources (manpower) (ammunitions) (Fuel) only the ammo and fuel increases as territory expands but the manpower starts similar to everyone but its income decreases as your population increases (also all units ingame requires manpower to call in) so even if you have a hell of a lot of fuel you cant snowball your power into late game (ammo is sued for upgrades and abilities and fuel is mixed with manpower to call in vehicles) CoH2 is one of the few games where power creeping and snowballing is hard to do (it would require so much just to snowball in this game compared to other RTS) snowballing is still possible but its so hard that if you manage to do it then props on you in terms if territorial advantage as it expands its not really the case, more territory means larger area to protect spreading your units thin while the enemy since they got butchered(assuming) will have increase manpower income due to low population will easily mount up a counter and have smaller area to protect means their units wont be spread and can easily back up others also regarding cover (yes larger guns require more thicker protection an AA truck especially those that have 25mm+ can easily smash sandbags removing the protection and tanks will mostly shoot through it and this is all inagame) the STURM TIGER is real its rare but real its gun isnt really a gun but more like a launcher, it fires a 36cm rocket propelled round designed to bunker bust also the AI's resource bonus is only at the start (they get around 66% more starting resources but the rest is same) expert just reacts almost like another player which pushes you to the edge and no breathing time (its just the AI sometimes love buying same stuff repeatedly so if you pull tanks early on the expert AI loves to pop in tons of anti tank weapons so if you force your way of using tanks then your gonna suffer, the best way to counter AI is to simply react to them as well, since AI is still an AI it cant pull new strategy other than whats its programmed to do

25:19 Yes, that was real. It had a 400 mm rocket-gun projectile for short ranged, urban combat. Apparently built for Stalingrad, but only available well after that battle was lost. And yes, a 400 millimetre round for close quarters combat is what it sounds like. That frontal armour protected it from it's own projectile blast. It was for deleting urban fortifications, presumably ones that you had to get real close to to avoid friendly fire, because of the nature of fighting in Stalingrad, where Red Army soldiers where ordered to get close enough to the Germans, that the Germans couldn't call in fire support, for fear of hitting their own men.

That video is inaccurate in few ways ... 1. AI was a lot lot dumber in earlier years of the game, why ? cause the algorithm of the units is being constantly improved .. you don´t know .. or just didn´t notice that all game .. no really ALL GAMES ARE BEING RECORDED !! Cause at then you start a match/host it there is saying "observers on/off" and "observer delay 5min" .. so game is recording the action and other watching people see like 5min later to avoid livesniping of game on 2nd monitors and such stuff (many people just turn it off) you can also rewatch the game yourself or even simply save the record .. thats also how we know the stats of AI´s income from moments 30:30 the AI tool bar is only visible in observator mode or in replay. ** Shortly the AI´s is constantly learning how to play !! Just like these evolving algorithm ideas of how AI learns to play Jump King or other simple games ... it´s just this takes a lot longer and can´t be seriously speed up that much .. because you need input of players ... a LOTS of input .. there is even theory that then 4AI vs 2players and 2AI = better AI in your team if you worse player ... cause sometimes then you winning and crushing enemy AI .. your AI teammate just starts to randomly roam the map to balance the fight .. you having to sit with arty/mortars, tank hunters and At guns behind meat shield of AI which just charges with hordes of for him cheap units is too OP. *** 2. Since years ago, players found lots of exploits like block small infantry bridges by sandbags/ cause AI isn´t able to jump over the small/fence like covers to get over and has to find another path .. so you can just block the bridges with anti tank traps/ dragon teeths and barb wires and it will stop trying to get though there unless there is no other path .. then it will randomly seek wandering around .. that worked to whole 9 YEARS !!! or so it lasted .. i play for last 2 years and in that time over 1200h in the game was dumped ... and in last few months ago i found new reaction of AI to these path blocks .. it started firing into sandbags/barb wire and Tank traps ... how ?!!!? Well obviously the AI learns from players .. cause then we want to unlock that path we just click ground attack near it or just directly attack the tank trap /barb itself and here is the problem .. AI LEARNED it and now our exploits are gone .. only way to win against AI experts with like 2double res ... and for some M type people .. not me for sure .. mod can increase pop caps to whole 999pops (vannila is 100) and make either set multiplayer of resources .. or just make it infinite) both are sick options so i just use moderaton of 200pop at max and just like +25% resources 3. The game price had many amazing sales .. liek i said i got it 2y ago in summer sale down to 1€ (bought copy for friend too) and DLC´for factions can be bought for down to 10€ .. commanders are very rare to get in 1200h got single .. its RNG .. skins can be modded and commanders can be bought with "supplies" 500per currency drop and you get more game currency drops with factions you have high collection completion in , obviously .. if you have all "bulletins/small buffs for specific unit" and skins from vannila set then you have higher chance to get the currency .. i have high Oberkommando West completion ... very high 600h in them .. and get only currency .. like every 29/30 is currency .. he just didnt play enough for single faction .. still commander rare obviously... but not unobtainable.. 4. Many mods are improving realism of the death rates Spearhead mod, Realism .. many funny mods like Advanced Powers with power of Science and Sci-fi ..fun with this game never ends !! example of mod : All units (170), this mod breaches problem of commander unique units, passive upgrades .. cause all can be build/upgraded. you dot have to wait for your enginners to arrive to your broken disabled tank .. unlike in vannila you can decrew your tanks and repair it with your crew !!! only thinks are some of active abillities but they can also be duplicated with specific units (officers for off-map call-in artillery and so on) ****Potencial of this game is INFINITE. Just like is your imagination!! .. and the crazy modders in the Steam/relic workshops (O-O) rip these forced downlands in custom lobbies are sometimes disgusting .. blocking game start ups .. lagging game, harrasing people and ... eating up your storage space/fps/processor .. these skins mods and maps can easily build up to fearsome 20GB .. just form these popular ones .. but can easily reach 30GB .. jsut these optional custom mods/skins !!!!! So game itself can reach over 45 GB if you not cleaning your Coh2 files and workshop subs for a long time (O-O) D: Thanks for reading and please leave feedbacks, fill ups .. for sure i didn´t cover all of info. (left out stuff like that your manpower income is decreasing with more units on the field , realistic .. many gameplay mechanics being constantly nerfed/buffed)

The funny thing is that it was CHarles de Gaulle who invented the Blitzkrieg strategy, but the rest of the French government and Military leadership didn't want to adopt it, so the Germans did and steamrolled France with it.

So about your whole hyperbolic time chamber rant thing, Goku is a saiyan meaning he has different biology and also his body is capable of just out right cheating like "Becoming stronger when they recover from an injury that nearly killed them" or "Being able to transform and become multiple times stronger" and there's the fact that saiyans stay in their prime until they get to around 70 years old, plus saiyans also are capable of eating a shitload of food to make up for the calories burnt during training which is why they can do so much training and have it be beneficial.

Also the hyperbolic time chamber is like an alternate dimension where 1 year inside is one day outside, it also comes stocked with food, beds, water, and a bathroom meaning that goku is capable of resting while inside the time chamber.

@MHGR The Polish army wasn't "as modern as the rest" they were stuck with technology from 1920 while the Germans had the most modern equipment outside of their standard issue rifle. The Pols were still flying leftover biplanes that they got as mil-surp from other nations and their tanks were, only a little bit better than their planes. The most common of which being a tankette that had an anti-tank rifle or machinegun mounted on it. Granted, had they actually had their communications stay up and had actually prepared their defenses in time, against demands by the British and French, they'd have probably been able to give Germany and the Soviets a massive bloody nose. They would've still probably lost, though, even if it took a year longer.

Well that whole spiel about the British expeditionary force was plain wrong. The british were one of the only nations with and independent tank corps, like the Germans. The reason France and the bef lost was because they got outflanked because they thought the Germans were going to focus their attack on Belgium not through the Ardennes. The Germans based the blitzkrieg war theory off of British war theory. History is not so clear cut as in saying the British won WW1 so they just thought if it isn't broke don't fix it. Even at the end of WW1 the British had almost perfected combined arms war, they developed it further to the point the British and french were far more mechanized than the German. Peace out
