Another great and informative video. Thanks for taking the time and pointing out the interesting facts. The part on the rear that held the "stop" light and Greyhound sign is known as a "drum head". It's a railroad term. 👍

The assembly that you attach the drum head to is sometimes called a dog dish.

You can fix that dent. Just put in the time. Not that big of a deal. Just muscles and mallets lol Maybe somebody up top holding a dolly while you mallet it out. Hey Sage, you going to get a Zephyr polisher and polish up the 41? Those things are amazing. There's a lot of vids out there of guys using them to take nasty old diesel tanks on trucks and turning them into mirrors lol Nevermind the cotton pads [good after you take a proper polishing wheel like the Zephyr to the aluminum]. You can polish stainless with those things. Mirror finish! So cool.

@@SilversidesSage Nah... aluminum... polish off the oxydization then put some clear coat on it and let it shine like a big old hotdog on wheels. Finish is finish really. You can polish it. It's passed due for a solid polishing. :-) Love these Buses.

As someone who's shaped a LOT of aluminum, that dent in the roof is really no big deal to fix, even if there is no rear access. The real problem would be if there is flammable material right behind.

You can actually perforate the Aluminium from outside and manage a straightening.I think there are tools for this kind of repair work.

tv antennas on top ,very good ones, they are not made anymore, pull in anywhere 15 to 20 plus channels

@@SilversidesSage Awesome Thank you, Silversides are rare here in Australia but I think Drivers Buslines has a few in their heritage fleet collection under restoration for their GM fleet. Pre 1970 Bus and coach here in Australia was pretty much all english truck chassis with Bus bodies and having driven many in Route service I can say they are horrible, underpowered, under braked and all round Yuk.
