Sage and Jason work with The Bus Grease Monkey on fine tuning the Detroit Diesel 671. They also test out their work by racing up the infamous BGM hill.

Gotta love it ... must be the fastest Bus Grease Monkey hill climb ever and resulted in needed diagnostics of the oil leak potential ... one of our famous Texan "Hold my Beer" moments forever captured on video

These old ones will test every nerve you have , but in the end the passion and love for that mechanical thing make the problems and worries just fade away with a big smile! Good job guys. Thanks for sharing.

When I was taking ceramics in 79 I wrote "clean is good" on the blackboard. My art teacher Pete Kuentzel made approval to me in a humorous sort of way the next day. I felt like grasshopper. Thanks Sage, Jason, and Bus Grease Monkey. Lovely machines.

Thanks for the video Sage. I like the sound of the screaming Jimmy. It's good to hear that you have a healthy engine.

A good restoration detail with the proper compounds and polishes will bring that back to looking beautiful...

That is anodized aluminum I would never use a compound on it because that would strip off the finish.

@@SilversidesSage Juan and Michelle did a really nice job restoring their anodized finsh. I think they used some sort of scotch brite pads from memory

Scotch-Brite would strip the original finish off. I use a product called belly polish designed for aircraft.

@@SilversidesSage here's the video of what they did and thanks for the information on belly polish. They used 3 levels of sandpaper followed by a Rouge buff and mothers polish. Their bus is about 20 plus years newer though. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2WUlpWqotSaqqc

@@SilversidesSage you may want to look into Mother's CMX. It's a ceramic coating that really protects and gives it a deep luster. The more coatings you do, the deeper the paint looks. I use it a lot on my 2001 and 1968 Mustangs. On fourth spray bottle.

Excellent news that the engine was given a clean bill of health. Also, l commend you on making the nice videos of this adventure.... with all the stress involved, you still managed to keep the camera rolling while also providing very comprehensive narration.

With all these buses migrating to the BGM compound I wonder if Greyhound is getting Karen calls wanting to book reservations insisting there must be Greyhound service cuz they have their buses crawling all over their town......😁

Parking Brake and not "emergency" brake, quite right, and if it is properly adjusted, it is an integral part of the braking system as a whole.

Nothing wrong with knowing your limits Sage, Nice video update from your Visit to Scott. I do the same thing, Lots of things I CAN do if pushed but common sense tells me to pay an expert 9/10 times on the fiddly stuff.

That’s school kids behavior there and I think most all of us here are beyond that type of stuff. Scott has made more comments about Sage and his buses and what was happening with Sage in numerous videos that weren’t about him or his bus and I don’t feel that Scott in any way intended to shun him by any means and in fact I wouldn’t have ever noticed it had you not made your comment so I think it was just more of an editing thing that just got overlooked as pieces of video clips got sewn together so give em the benefit of the doubt this time and let’s move forward with some more good videos from both of them. Take care Don and be safe out there!
