I picked junk in my comp match today when I have like 0 time on the hero. We almost fully capped paraiso, and then I went junk on defense and we full held. I was literally fragging, it's never felt so easy to get kills. (im a genji player and i usually have to sweat my ass off to get kills, I see why lower ranks pick junk a lot, he's fun an easy)

@@masift1494 I agree that a character as difficult as genji shouldn't be nuked seemingly every patch. But Junkrat isn't an easy ass hero, he's easy to get value out of. For sure, no questioning that. But actually playing Junk well takes a lot more skill than just getting value out of him. And having characters like Junk is good for the game. Maybe not Junk in his current state, but having characters that are easy to get value out of is a good way to introduce and get new people into the game. And it seems like the number of characters like that is few and far between. So I don't think the problem is that and easy character is more rewarding than a difficult one, it's that the difficult character isn't rewarding enough so playing the bare minimum on a more entry level character feels disparaging. Though that's just my opinion on it, but I am biased as a Junk main so I'm aiming not to have my boy nuked like genji. Also imagine my analogy was hunting with a nerf gun vs hunting with a shotgun. One feels damn near impossible (or is) and the other is easier to use with less training but isn't necessarily the best pick.

Finally, high-rank players will suffer what we had to experience for 6 years in OW1. Junkrat is still very hard to deal with but at least he doesn't get ult every 50 seconds because of 2 tanks. He just randomly shots you and makes getting through chokes impossible.

I mean, the removed the self damage like 6 months in to overwatch 1. He's been basically unchanged for like 4 years. It's honestly easy to deal with a junk. You can see where his nades are going and easily dodge them. He also has a long reload and only 5 shots per mag. That's when you focus him.
