I am a US Army Vet.. Somebody would have to seriously F-UP for this to happen. But if I did there is something that the review video does not take into consideration. Americans and the Brits have a connection. A connection that goes back beyond 1776. The population of the UK knows America would never attack them unless something very drastic happened in the UK. The American Congress would never approve such action unless it was last resort. Brits know this and I think they respect our friendship. There would be an uprising in the UK and the US would show restraint. America's military tries hard to win "hearts and minds" of the country. A friendly population is a great work environment. I think (my opinion) that Brits would burn down #10 before they would allow this to happen. Because the hearts and minds of both nations have been combined for so long. The US would never "Conquer" the UK. In the very worst case scenario it would save it. Then leave once it was stable again.

Fun Fact: The US has actually drawn up multiple plans to invade the UK (and mainland Europe) stemming from WWII and when we were worried about the USSR potentially taking parts of Europe. We needed plans on how to invade against a USSR-occupied Europe. It would be funny if a few of the old British kings could see this video. I suspect that they would have approached the colonies a little differently if they knew how powerful a couple of them would become.

American here.... There are multiple ways to compare the two. In quantity... not even close. But the Brits are second to none when it comes to ingenuity, even to this day. Let's not forget they began the industrial revolution. Some of their contributions to military evolution: - Microwave radar (allowed radar sets to be smaller - even airborne). It's said that the atomic bomb ended the war, but it was radar that won it. - In the naval carrier realm they invented steam catapults, the angled flight deck, and the mirror landing system. They also figured out how to fly F8 Corsair fighters from carriers when we had to remove them from ours due to too many losses. When I say 'second to none, even to this day' I'm referring to the ARM chips almost all mobile devices are built on (they all use the custom RISC instruction set created in Britain). I will always be proud of our 'special relationship' and consider us to be cousins. Just consider the P-51 Mustang (with the RR Merlin) as an example of what we can do together. I enjoy your content!

There are some unresolved hard feelings lingering from the War of 1812, the UK never paid us back under the Lend Lease Act and commentators from the BBC constantly insult the US, so I wouldn't be totally opposed to slapping you guys around a little bit. The UK has not been good friends to the US. Looking at it from the point of view of a UK citizen, there would be plenty of positives from becoming the US' 51st state. For example, the US has a lower federal tax rate, lower unemployment rate, lower inflation, cheaper fuel and many Brits may find that they prefer an HMO approach to the NHS. Also, there's no dentist shortage in the US so you guys would be able to get same-day dental and doctor appointments.

I don't see a scenario like this ever happening. The UK/Great Britain was, is and always will be the parent country of The UNITED STATES. The US started as a group of British colonies. The US wouldn't be what she is today if not for The UK for better or worse. If anything, The US would probably be more likely to come charging to The UK's rescue or would fight side by side. I also find it interesting the UK was once basically considered a Superpower nation and The US became a Superpower nation. Bottom line is The United States and The UK are very, very close friends and still sharing so many cultural things in common.
