I do too, but I do get a little jealous because the US McDonald’s never have limited run specials like they do in Asia, Mexico, Italy and Spain. The second order that looked similar. Was molletes. They are usually made on a "oval shaped bolillo roll" the role is cut in half lengthwise so you have a nice flat side. I think the nicest way to do it is then the role is buttered and tossed it up. (Still probably good and healthier without butter). Then you smear the refried beans across the top of it and put the white cheese on top to melt. (Yes a good melty white cheese, it is Mexico after all. 🙂). You then put it back under the heat / in the oven to heat everything up and make the cheese all nice and melty. Then you can put your Pico De Gallo / salsa bandera on top . Or you can add your chili sauce other kind of salsa or whatever you like and Chow down. You'll usually see it served for breakfast but you know, you can have it whenever you want. 🙂. But of course McDonald's uses English muffins for it because they have them around already they keep easier and last longer than the bolillo rolls...

I have eaten at many McDonald's in Mexico; and my favorite item is the Cajeta (dulce de leche made from goat's milk) flavored Milkshake. The Choco Roles McFlurry was also special. I loved the different flavor of soda options like limonetta, manzetta, and jamaica. You are doing this post-pandemic; so I do not know if they had big mac sauce laid out so you can put it on any McDonald's item you wanted. The quality of the queso (cheese) pie varied depending on the location. I had great queso pies and poor ones. They have pina pies; which you can also find in every McDonald's Central American country. Mexico is not really Central America, but it is the gateway or crossroads to Central America. I love Mexico; and I cannot wait to live there again. The burgers and breakfast items did not really impress me. I had every menu time you had; but you pointed out observations I did not notice at the time --- thank you for that. However, you really missed the highlights of Mexican McDonald's by not getting their phenomenal deserts (or playing with their soda machine unique flavors).

I love the McDonald’s breakfast burritos in the US & their pinjcantè sauce is the BEST. Wish I could buy McDonald’s pinjcantè sauce in jars at the store. 🥰 I could literally just eat it straight out of the little packet…it’s that tasty. On the other hand, stay far away from BK’s breakfast burritos….they are nasty. 🤣 *Edit: if you get a packet of jam (grape or strawberry), you can put it on the sausage patty and it is so freaking delicious!!!! It tames the saltiness…and when you get that salty, sweet and savory bite with the tiny bit of black peppery flavor of the sausage….it’s just so balanced and yummy!!! You’re welcome* ☺️

I have found that the Mx Mcdonalds I've visited have the original apple pies: the ones that look fried and not baked. They used to be common in California until 30 something years ago when they switched to the baked version. Also, just from my experience, the staff at McD are so attentive during indoor dining as it is probably due to their prices being equivalent to US prices while other local places offer more food for less mxn.
@felipereyna19552 жыл бұрын
They are attentive because is in our culture (and they make them haha), but actually Mcdonalds is the cheapest one of the american chains in Mexico. We usually think about mcdonals as trash food. In other hand, chains like Carls Jr (Hardee's) or KFC are really loved in Mexico.
