Great times for Comedy the 1970s, wonderful shows written with a charm and innocence to entertain the whole family. .....miss those vintage times in television

@jamespasifull5 жыл бұрын
'The best' is a term that's entirely personal. Some may think Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis were the best........but they're clearly mental! Some like the Dangerous Brothers........but they're waaaay too left wing to be taken seriously! Some prefer Fry & Laurie.......& they may have a point-ish! Whoever is your favourite pairing should never be open to insult from others with a different preference. It's like arguing over breakfast cereals......pointless! (Anyway, cornflakes are still the best!)

There's this distinct difference, in my opinion, between British and American comedy. American comedy tend to do slapstick humor and Absurdity whereas British go for farce, irony and verbal sarcasm. But overtime, they kind of switch techniques.

Comedy has certainly evolved over the years. I wouldn't say this is any better or worse than what we have today but the likes of Eric and Ernie and The Two Ronnies are pure gold and have aged well. There was plenty of below par comedy back then that's forgotten now so let's not make the mistake of comparing the best comedy of yesteryear with the worst of today. Every decade has it's gems.
