When you are playing this backline support econ position, consider placing your fusion at the outer edge of your construction turret range and offering to sell it when you build your first AFU. Additionally late game consider giving away an AFU or two. When you get 150+ air cons reclaim some of the construction turrets and build AFUs in their place. In this game it wouldn't have done anything but in other games you have situations like 1 player loses their econ but still has a t2... a quick flyby to drop some construction turrets and gifting them an AFU and the turrets can bounce them back into the game. You also were a little late in the transition to air cons and overflowed the entire team's energy @22:50; you should have given away metal then - in the course of the next 90 seconds you overflowed the whole team about 2 million energy as you stockpiled metal and the rest of the team was metal restricted. I'd suggest dragging your metal share slider down to about 3k around this time (if you stop building for 3 seconds your energy goes from empty to full, but your metal only increases 1.5k and will not start overflowing for another 45 seconds... by dropping to 3k you allow your team to make use of your metal after 6 seconds). You also stopped building converters around this time so this energy overflow lag got worse and worse.

Mid-game economy defense after the first fusion goes online is to send out 1-3 constructors to build the T1 Dragon's Teeth around the economy base and then into ally bases to create chokepoints in case of breakthrough attacks. Then after the first AFUS finishes to send out T2 constructors to build T2 Fortress Walls around those T1 walls.

I still believe you can get a tremendous amount of value out of making more Lazarus bots to reclaim on the front, there have been more than a few matches where there are fields of 4k metal before 10 minutes that just sits there for a while. I think you can boom just that much faster if you make say 2 extra lazarous bots to keep near the front to suck up any easy metal.

@Shane Rooney if your running them that far out then I would assume your reclaiming with them, you only need 1 or 2 to get a lot. Plus this is an eco spot so you probably won't be focusing on unit production. I highly doubt that anyone will have snipers before 9 minutes tops anyway, all you have to do is keep one close to the front and swoop in with the tide of battle.... you are a seagull and reclaim is the crackers that you steal from beach people.

maybe its just because of the games I play but when i have the huge economy boom here i like building ~7 thors and just moving them all together. spread out a little for D-guns but the HP and damage from them means little can stand in their way.

yeah, I would love to see a build where he goes even earlier. Pulsars are not that expensive. Neither are rattlesnakes. It would be interesting to see a build where he starts going forward nanos in a firebase configuration much earlier, and then tries to build forward something quickly. I don't even care what. T2 units, gantry, defenses, artillery, just build something forwards. I also think It would be quite good, as he is building his mercuries and pulsars VERY far backwards, behind even the front line player's wind farms, because you just can't really PUT mass con aircraft on the front line, like you can put say, 20 construction turrets and 3-5 construction bots near the front line.

my best most efficient afus has been 3 at 20 minutes. I produce a lot of units and T1 air cons too though. guess that's where I can improve. less units.

When i got first 3 or 4 T2 flying constructors, i make 20 to 30 T2 flying scouts and just scout all enemy territory, before they got extensive air defense.

That doesnt really help with anything. Whatever they built are probably not important and future buildings wont be known nor any strats. If you watch Clyret play you will understand what i mean, he can change strat in seconds (change of factories) so you wont be knowing what he does unless you constantly scouts.

@@mesaber86 You are missing my point. You need to destroy economy. You can see who is building economy and where. You already can see where are Fusion and Advanced Fusion. If You see one Advanced Fusion, soon clamp of Advanced Fusion will be there. Now You know where to send bombers, aim long range artillery, send invisible units or where punch front-line with Your assault.

@@_DarkEmperor scouting backline wont solve frontline and especially not early on. You make it sound like people dont build their tech in standard locations. Where you find nano you find tech. Except for some pros that are clever enough to put some tech in corners (for explosion radius) but this is very late game. You are basically talking about ragnarok and so late that game is already decided at that point. What you should scout is who is opponents best player and decide how good this person is, if you can break this player its already a victory. Ive seen Clyret win so many games because hes left alone and not seen as a threat. You want to scout the best player to see what hes doing and find a hole to his eco. Also why would you ever need 40 T2 scouts? 2-3 is enough especially if there are no AA. Dont waste eco. The only time ive seen mass scout is nuking run and thats when AA exists.

@@dave7526 Yeah, true, but I wouldn't worry too much. The meta is in very early state in the game and the team coordination is still very non existent as well. Nobody even attempts to scout enemy builds for creating counter builds.

Actually @Drongo teammates cannot donate more metal than a player can hold. So dw about overflow... just worry about lost revenue from not getting paid full price from your "goods"
