Morel Mushroom hunt 2023 in Kentucky.

Today we took a trip to the Kentucky woods in search of the wild Morel Mushroom. All and all not a bad hunt, never as many as you would like but the few we found tasted just right. You fine folks come along and going hunting with us and see how many we missed.

I guess I need to head over towards Louisville! I’ve never hunted out that way but you make it look worth my time. I’ve already put in about 25 miles over 5 days around central KY and found no morels at all! I never get skunked but I never find many… if I get a skillet full then I consider that a success even though I’m doing 8 hour days.

Three main things is Soil Temp. 55-65 Moisture just enough not to much. And Tree's Mainly ,Poplar ,Ash, Elm, Sycamore. And they sure do like those Privet bushes and Multifloral rose.

Jr, my wife watches Oak Island. They’ve sunk $millions$ into their hunt for treasure and haven’t found diddly-squat. You walk into the woods and find yourself tripping over nuggets worth their weight in gold. Perhaps you should book a trip to an Island on the coast of Nova Scotia???
