Fun fact about Sword and Shield: If you have the dlc, you can go to the crown tundra and immediately go to the dynamax layer to get any level 70 legendary you want. And you can get this at the start of the game

In Gen 1 the Earthquake TM is in Silph Co actually, the Viridian Gym gives you Fissure. Gen 3 is where you get Earthquake from the Viridian Gym, easy mistake to make

You evolve Magneton in BW2 in Chargestone Cave. Which you unlock by beating the Driftveil Gym’s Clay, so you’ll be just over Level 30, which is the level you evolve into Magneton, so it’s really there for a good time not a long time

You can definitely get Gible in DP and Plat, however it’s Level 15-17 and 15% encounter rate in DP, while it’s level 17 and 19-20 and 20% encounter rate in Plat, so it’s both on average stronger and more consistently encountered in Platinum, which is probably why you remember it more in Platinum than DP.

Fun fact. Abra has a 90 speed stat and 105 SpAtk stat. So when you realize that in gen 1 there's no physical/special split, and Abra can learn all 3 elemental punch TMs (which use SpAtk), Abra doesn't even need to evolve in order to start nuking things

As I said in Smith's video, I would have taken accessibility into account as well. Alakazam and the Mythicals from BD/SP aren't available for those that don't have either another copy of the game they are playing (for Alakazam) nor a copy of either a Let's Go game or either Sword or Shield.

Magikarp are everywhere and usually available super early with the old rod, which means you basically can always reliably catch gyarados with barely any effort. i have recently been playing Pokerogue and I have to say Gyarados is so busted in-game. Like I never picked Gyarados in-game before and Gyarados has gotten powercrept in competitive. Inn Rogue though, I make a conscious decision to not use him on my teams anymore. I have already won with him 5-6 times and even got enough candies to unlock his passive. Even without his passive or egg moves, just Dragon Dance, Waterfall, Ice Fang with Intimidate are so good!

My first level 100 was an Alakazam, it got that high because I'd use my Stadium copy to keep trading it to new games to beat the elite four with, and even loaning it to friends for them to do as well. It sadly passed away when I took it to Gold, got on the SS Anne, and didn't understand you had to sleep.

Gyarados: Stomping on trainer's teams since 1996. Also, shout out to a couple 'mons you can get early that carry you through most games, or at least part of it, until you can get those wonderful additions that made the list, or get them to relevant levels: Magnemite, Oddish, Geodude, Makuhita, Grubbin, Honedge, Fletchling, Tympole, Bronzor and Trapinch in particular.

Reason why mega alakazam only gets +90 as a mega because in that same gen zam got a +10 stat boost so they forgot to account for that in its mega stats. They fixed it the next generation

I saw Ceruledge's design before i started playing Gen 9. It and Miraidon led me to get Violet over Scarlet, and I used it from the start of the game to the end of the main story. I would have used it into the DLC but I have not played them yet.

Pseudo legendary you don't get until late game so you won't get them, leveling in the slow level group and evolve late 40's is bad unless you want to spend 100+ hours leveling them early game, things like garydose and stuff you can get early and are good the whole game

Ceruledge is a monster in Gen 9 playthroughs. Just give it a Grass type Tera, and it can sweep just about any fight in the game, except for Larry's Dudunsparce with Drill Run. Hell, with a Grass Tera and Tera Blast along with Bitter Blade, Shadow Claw, & Swords Dance, it can easily sweep Geeta's entire team all by itself, and even without a Grass Tera it can still sweep 5 of Geeta's 6 Pokemon very comfortably. This is due to Ceruledge having the Flash Fire ability, so even with a Grass Tera type, Flash Fire makes Ceruledge remain immune to Fire even after it becomes a Grass type when it Terastallizes. From the moment I got mine, I just boxed my Skeledirge and never looked back (this is pretty much the first time I went through a playthrough without my starter on my team for most of it, and I really like Skeledirge, I just like Ceruledge far more). And between Ceruledge & Armarouge, I see Ceruledge as the clear winner between the two. Sure, Armarouge is bulky, but it's signature move, Armor Cannon strips away that bulk by reducing Armarouge's defensive stats every time you use it. Ceruledge on the other hand *_HEALS ITSELF_* every time it uses it's own signature move of Bitter Blade (and only abilities like Flash Fire can render Bitter Blade useless), which can make Ceruledge really hard to deal with if you don't have a way to just one-shot it outright.

Honestly, for me the best choice in gen 1 is Starmie. It is one of the fastest Pokémon available and can clear pretty much everything with Surf, Psychic, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. Hell, you can even run Recover if that's your sort of thing

Ok... in gen 1 the strongest type is Psychic-type, Alakazam I think is the strongest Pokémon in gen 1. It only has two weaknesses, beetle and ghost, but considering that Gengar, it is perhaps the only Pokémon that can hold it feats in gen 1, and considering that Gengar is weak to Alakazam's stab moves... I'd say I've said it all, plus I don't think there are any decent beetle-type moves in gen 1... considering that Leech Life only has 20 of power in gen 1, and zubat is weak to psych type, parasect is not a master of speed, and Alakazam can 1hitKO it, quickly, Beedrill is weak to psych moves... let's say that said it all. If Alakazam isn't first I'll make a revolution! () I'm commenting before finishing the video, I might edit the comment. I'm still in Nidoking as possibly the strongest Pokémon! 😂
