“Capitalists should never be allowed near a healthcare system. They hold sick children hostage as they force parents to bankrupt themselves in the desperate scramble to pay for medical care. The sick do not have a choice. Medical care is not a consumable good. At the very least, prices should be strictly regulated by the government. "Price-fixing" is often considered a bad word in pro-capitalist circles, because it prevents the laws of supply and demand from working properly - but those laws don't really apply to healthcare. Demand is "sticky" and completely insensitive to price, because people will pay anything to not die.

Since most of these takeover buccaneers work with other people’s money , it is likely they would rather drive the hospital through unsolvency to shield away behind bankrupcy laws. Non-profit hospitals aren't much better. A doctor told a friend of mine they would "save her life" when she was in the ER. She asked him about sending her to the other hospital and he said "oh I'm always saying things like that." Then another doctor threw her out and we had a heck of a time getting her home. Instead, they farm out the surgeries to community hospitals (where they’re already overwhelmed) because we no longer have the qualified staff or the specific specialty docs to perform some surgeries. If we, at the bottom of this wealth-driven model don't start getting unionized, nothing will improve. We CAN start by (as a consumer) boycotting companies/products such as Cargill, Resnick, Amazon. May seem harsh but if we don't, things will just get worse for us. If you can, shop brick-and-mortar stores. Filter your own water and carry a BPA-free bottle instead of buying Fuji Water, etc.

Healthcare is a fundamental public service , not a for-profit enterprise. Focus on positive health and patients , not customers and revenues/profits. People over profits!

@leannhorne8459 Жыл бұрын
I always had a sneaking suspicion about these guys. No corporation does anything for free, especially for the old people. We’ve really got to take our healthcare into our own hands. Go to the dentist for check ups & eat healthy. We’ll all be better not dealing with this quackery.

As soon as I heard "private equity" I knew things were going to get really f'd up. And the guy talkin about a communist takeover is clueless. Hospitals in the old USSR far outperformed US based healthcare. Lower infant mortality, more access, all of it.

At 9:38 "...triage in a war zone, every single day" for patients. Imagine being in a war in that situation. Can't do it? Watch a movie where that takes place ("Pearl Harbor" 2001 when the Harbor gets hit and then the mess and chaos that ensues). Even though hospital patients are not under such disorder, their lives sometimes have the same risk of dying or being mistreated and placed in more danger.

The hospital will only get better if the CMO leaves and obviously the administration which supports him. That guy is a piece of art. Sad to see that happen to a great town which has a great potential and seeing an amazing growth. We need the system to work which will only happen if the admin leaves. God bless America.

My father was in Wilson hospital. The staff and nurses were nice but they had no doctors there. You just wait till you see a doctor and even though Medicare or insurance pays somethings they send you bills that insurance covers at other hospitals. I just sent my mom to ECU hospital and there are doctors everywhere there.

And if you complain to the phone staff for not putting thru your request for medical care to the doctor, the woke management sends you a threatening letter accusing you of hurting the staff feelings and then without warning, they fire you and completely abandon you as a patient.. You not allowed to say, "hey, i need my insulin refills completed before i run out" they tell you, they put thru the request, but the doctors never see the refill request so you run out of life saving insulin.. You're not allowed to be frustrated with the lack of competence and the negligence of the staff on the phone. I went to my appointment, there are three floors of doctors at my clinic. 3 people behind the reception desk.. and all the patients are staged on ground floor lobby.. I sat for 2 hours waiting (they claimed they were behind schedule because of C... I was the only one in the lobby waiting to go up to any of the 3 floors.. I get upstairs , walk down the hall, with 10 exam rooms that were open and empty.. The doctors excuse for being 2 hours late, "we are overwhelmed with C patients.. BS... I was the only patient i saw that day and all the doctors, nurses were fully staffed.. They are completely exaggerating this C, at the patients expense..

Less than 3% of the hospitals might be actively in jeopardy but this is a nationwide problem. The modern business model is profits over people. That is not compatible with good healthcare. I don’t know why more hospitals haven’t been dinged. But they should be.

The hospitals keep their staff so low that it is impossible to take care of the patients adequately. But the nurse gets in trouble if things go wrong, not the hospital. The nurse does all the work, upper management makes all the money.

Wilson 131 staffed beds, 5,497 Total Discharges, 30,257 Patient Days, $695,328 Gross Patient Revenue. pretty close to the others. every hospital has bad numbers. deaths do occur. mistakes made by over worked nurses. remember doctors are practicing, if you have an issue get a lawyer.

Basically their description of mining the Poor for the Wealth for the Equity Firm is basically the description of the Conservative Ideology. The "word" conservative is one of if not the oldest unchanged words in the English language. Its roots go back to the development of the Social Structure with the earliest being King, or Local Highest Religious leader, the Warrior, and the Surf. The leaders attitude was then as it is now wealth flows from the Bottom Up never from the Top Down (Hint this is the Bogus Model know as Trickle Down, as it never does and historically back to when conservative was coined it didn't work then either) Warning, this is Exactly the Model by which if allowed to come to main stream is what the Republican Party has in mind, It is also the basic Model of how their market Value Social Security Plan would ultimately work... Remember its a Dark Money Billionaires Club and You Ain't in it.

If your husband is getting ready to retire…even if he only has social security and a small pension and you’re not 65, you will be without healthcare until you are 65 unless you can afford $500 a month for half assed policy on marketplace. If you underestimate your income even a few dollars, the federal gov will charge you over $1200 a month for your coverage, regardless of what you paid already. If you draw from your pension to pay those fed taxes, it counts toward your yearly income. The fed government robbed our tiny pension for nearly $30k in two years. Avoid marketplace insurance at all costs... I’m currently uninsured and waiting to die from possible parathyroid cancer because a healthcare policy is $1000 a month and our pension is almost empty. My blood calcium is 14.5 and I can’t swallow whole food but no one cares... I don’t qualify for Arizonas state healthcare because my husbands social security plus the money we drew from his pension to pay last years taxes puts us over the maximum income. We lost everything in 2008 and now I’ll die a preventable death at 60 because I can’t afford the tests or the surgery to save my life. One dr visit with an endocrinologist was $280. The surgery will cost $25k for the surgeon alone. We just went home and I made my peace with god.
