6:44 - the asian education system honestly i(00's kid) never really noticed how nuts it is until i hear it from someone else. yeah, it's more or less accurate. tuitions are more for those who can afford it tho and how early you start getting drilled depends entirely on the parent. personally i was sent to kindergarten a year earlier than normal by my parents which were both teachers. i get to play outside around 4-6pm and i wasn't given any allowance since i wasn't really aware of why i would need to aside to just buy some snacks. the routine is almost entirely accurate as well. study at 7pm till 8pm, dinner at 8 then chill or revisions until bedtime after sleeping. revisions as in, just practicing my handwriting- doing math exercises ahead of the syllabus and memorizing the multiplication table up to 12. safe to say, uni is the chillest time i've ever had in education compared to my entire primary and secondary school

Event planning is actually pretty difficult. My friends hosted a comic con and all profit was going towards the children's hospital. They rented a hotel and had venders and everything, had tons of people show up, and only made a few hundred profit, and for first timers they usually go deep into the red so they were lucky. You really have to know what you're doing. The problem is if you don't know how much is normal for the companies supplying serves to charge they will grape you, and grape you raw. I bet if they did the same event next year they will make a small profit. One way to loose a lot of money is to hire someone who knows what they are doing, they love grape juice and you won't go in the red but they will make sure they take all the profit.

As a school teacher my Asian student parents, no matter where from take education seriously, especially my students who are first gen American, some of them are only in elementary, speak 3 languages already and have career based hobbies(Sewing, Athletics, Music and Reading). I've got a bud working in construction who has a bud working on an oil platform, and bud working on the platform has told him the working conditions which he has relayed to me, questioning if he should trial the opportunity for getting to work there. Anyways, that was a little off track but he's told the pay is good, they aren't worked to the bone while on the platform, and are trusted by their employers to know their stuff, with them allowed to pick their own hours as long as the job is done on time. And If I remember correctly they work in shifts of 24 to 48 days on the platform, with 6-12 days off back on land. I should clarify I don't know if it's the same in the US.
