Mad Props to Morgan Page. He probably explains his creative process quicker and more accurately then anyone ive heard. He would be an unbelievable teacher or mentor to an up and coming producer.

When I listened to "Fight For You" for the first time, I thought it sounded pretty awesome, but after I watched this "In the studio" a few times, I keep discovering different new elements in "fight for you", stuff like guitar strums, that bass guitar, lead that you never really pay attention to because it all blends so well

@DWebv8 what exactly is wrong with FL Studio?
@DJillogick13 жыл бұрын
@DarrenMalla Yes he uses an audio interface. This is THE most important part of a studio IMO. He has a Prsim sound Orpheus ($4500.00) If you are planning on using alot of external gear you need ins for it all, so you'll need an interface with alot of ins/outs. Example: RME Multiface, MOTU 2408MK3, Allen heath r16 etc...Some interfaces have midi i/o as well so they act as a midi interface as well.
@TheFahjah11 жыл бұрын
no what i'll agree with you on that. Good music often just happens from jamming, just doing whatever. Like most songwriter, i bet you he comes up with song ideas by just like you said goofing around. But what bring his track together, what really completes everything is his depth of knowledge. He knows what a track needs to be good.

@DJillogick No you misunderrstand me. I was refering strictly to house music, not electronic music. I would love to see dubstep, or dnb.

Hi I'm a beginner to this stuff.. how he connect all that stuff to the computer ex mixers, hardware effects, synthesizers, midi controlling stuff? Everytime I see a future music in the studio stuff I have this big question in my mind? Does he use an audio interface? thats what I used to connect my studio monitors to my pc Please Reply
@daviddecker809512 жыл бұрын
the difference between DAWs for me is that if i use cubase 6, i tend to put more work into the song and take my time. The only other DAW i have is mixcraft 5 and i tend to do more commercial and looping with that. so it could change the way u work around a DAW that could change or improve the songs u create? if that all made sense lol maybe its just me.
@sean371114 жыл бұрын
I thought the whole point of multi band compression was to add further control over frequency ranges during mixdown/mastering? Or at least what he's saying is contradictory to what I've read elsewhere... Whats the FM word on the subject?

@MakoMusicOfficial I guess they figure the future of music is based around the technology used to record it. So electronic music would be a good way to show it off? Plus electronic music is big right now, people don't realize it though. Hip Hop/Hip POP is really all electronic. Synths are everywhere now, and tons of music is being made soley on/in computers. But yeah, they could show off gear with a rock band or jazz group as well.

Can someone explain the difference between making a song and "mixing it down" ??
@Arado15912 жыл бұрын
My guess is that someone was talking down on FL studio, then Hareih said that Porter Robinson and a bunch of other professionals use it and that it's a good program. Which is true. a DAW is the plate you put your food on, nothing more.
@JustaArmada9911 жыл бұрын
Those composers did not make those songs in one sitting... I hope you know that. Not all good music are made by accident but it does help to fool around. Once you do get that good 4 or 8 bar melody you have to sit and figure out how to complete it.

You just need to have A LOT of patience, a computer of course some software (A DAW, VSTi Plugins and some vst's) you could possibly use samples instead of using expensive recording equipment. But the biggest thing you need is a musical ear, as Dodge & Fuski said "You need to know your speakers" "Will from Koan Sound uses 15 pound headphones he's had since he was a kid"

@DWebv8 Well, maybe he spent 5 grand on the Voyager and the Prophet rather than spend it on a Neumann u87. I have the AKG C414TLII and I think it sounds great. I've heard the U87 and lesser know great mics like the AT4060 and yeah, they sound better..... but it's alot of money. We all have limited resources and our opinions on what is worth it.

Yes thats the problem. The good music happens when you just fool around and not knowing "technically" 100% everything. Good music, just happens by accident, and when you don't think so much about stuff. If you get too technical it looses the magic and becomes to "forced" and sterile, and thereby boring.

I wish future music would do something different than just another house production. Gets so boring as that is all they do.
