Can i please add i'm a pretty decent guitarist and i play piano by ear, and computer music is by far the most challenging instrument i've ever picked up- thats why i pursue it, for the challenge. And just to put a cherry on top i have found dance one of the most challenging forms of computer music you can try to make. The majority of computer musicians (worth listening to, that is) need a good 2 - 3 weeks to make a track i only let myself spend a day it can take 10+ hours because of the detail in the tracks, but it is not easy to do. A typical guitar or piano track might take me an hour or two to figure out and record be honest. 10 years of computer music, 2 years making dance and i'm only just finding my feet with it. (I refuse to be average!) 17 years a guitarist.

The DAW doesn't color up the sound in any way. If you really think like it does, It's in your head(Placebo). The softwares have only improved by their looks and by usability in rough 10 years. And still, every compressor, delay, eq and reverb works in the same way. If you want to waste your money on several programs to think that you'll sound better, go ahead. I'll stay with my fairly affordable FL studio. Remember this: Composers make good music, not the software.
