My wife heard this song about a year ago. I played it for her because she really had struggled with her mental health and at the time she was on some pretty significant medications that really muted her and kept her numb. I remember playing this for her and watched a tear stream down her face and her only word about the song was "this". Morgan gave her pain a voice that she never could. I lost her to suicide almost 5 weeks ago and when I listen to this song I grieve but am relieved that all this pain is now gone. I'm so grateful for this performance.

This is actual country music. Notice how she didn't sing about her truck, or the tailgate of her truck, or a fucking dirt road, or drinking whiskey on a fucking dirt road. All of Nashville needs to hear this song. Great song!

There ain't nothing wrong with singing about dirt roads or your dog in the truck . It don't matter if you sing about the whiskey you drink ( she did ) . It's music. You sing how you feel and that's exactly what she does. Sing genuinely. The "Nashville " country songs are laundered shit to fit a specific style and takes away from the art . Big difference .

Just discovered Morgan Wade today and the timing could not have been better. Just got back from my follow-up psychiatrist appointment earlier today after getting out of detox last week. Discovered another song of hers on Spotify around lunchtime. Shared it with an ex of mine who is one of my best friends. She liked it, and as we were texting back and forth I ran across this song and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My ex and I are both Bipolar with anxiety disorders. I'm also an on again, off again recovering alcoholic and addict. I shared this one with her and I think we both fell in love with her and her music immediately. There are songs, and then there are those special songs that feel like they were written just for you. This is one of those songs for me. Thank you Morgan for writing and performing it. Your talent and introspection is a hell of a special thing. Please keep cranking out these masterpieces.
