Thank you! You answered my questions. Sounds like we use it the same way. I have the M18 7 1/4 and two M18 6 1/2s. I use the 5 1/2 95% of the time, including with a Kreg track. The old version could use a faster blade speed and a touch more power but it gets the job done in a great size format. It stays in my truck in a packout tool box on wheels along with the M12 driver and M12 drill. Again, despite having a pile of M18 tools, the M12 stuff gets the job done 95% of the time just fine. Thanks for saving me a little $$. I’ll wait ‘til the old one dies.

@Jay-sg2ww6 ай бұрын
Disagree somewhat. The did upgrade to the new jig saw , its much better than the old one. I upgraded to the new oscillating tool also its is much better then the prior. But yes some other tools are not that big of an upgrade. For the few times a month I use a circular saw I doubt I'll upgrade. I'm not upgrading my rotary tool for the new brushless rotary tool. Not updating my Gen 2 Fuel drill and impact for Gen 3. I guess the two examples above though they went from only making a regular M12 model to Fuel models. So maybe that is the big jump.
@MORGANSMaintenance6 ай бұрын
@@Jay-sg2ww some are big jumps. (Anything from Non-Fuel to Fuel is worth the upgrade for the motor usually- my opinion) I was meaning that some of the things like a rafter hook shouldn’t have to be an upgrade on a saw. It’s kinda a standard thing that should have been on the original. This one was worth the update to me because I use it a lot. Now my other one has become a thin metal demo saw. I use it to cut up metal doors to throw them away… so I was able to gain a new tool and repurpose an old one.
@Jay-sg2ww6 ай бұрын
@@MORGANSMaintenance Agreed. Also if you use these tools for a living, like yourself, than the extra features def make a difference even if the power is a small upgrade. Myself as a DIY homeowner I'll deal with no rafter hook, no dust collection, and an extra pound. Or who knows, if I can put my old one up on FB Marketplace for $50 and the new one is still $100 when I sell the old one I might do it.

Thank you for both your videos! I don’t own any Milwaukee tools yet, so this would be my entry point, and it seems like it’s really well designed. Your dust collection illustration was illuminating, definitely an attractive feature (though I have heard from many sources that circular saw dust collection is never really going to be great). My idea is to use this in combination with the Milescraft track saw guide, basically making a tiny lightweight track saw for breaking down sheet goods. I hope the compatibility works! As a person with some repetitive stress injuries in my hands, such a lightweight saw seems like an incredible solution for me.

My only option had been to just go check in person and with something like 10 home depots within 30 miles that didn't seem worth it. The store right next to my house showed $160 online vs $99 a few miles away. Glad constantly checking is over. One other difference is the max cut depth is a little over 1/4" deeper on the new one. I have a small Ryobi circular that couldn't cut 2x so the new M12 being 1.9" should be pretty safe. I'm doing some demo in my yard and had moved my 10" miter outside but this should be much easier. Not long ago I was helping a relative with a deck and we used that brushed ryobi saw and given enough patience it wl get the job done. The hard part is when you expect more from tools and get used to it. Then it's hard to go back. I too have gotten use to powerful tools and the m12 fuel saw was about as acceptable as I wanted to go with a ho battery. If I get really hungry for power the flexvolt saws are silly powerful. Gang cutting 4 sheets at once as fast as you can go has it advantages . They have gotten so powerful that it's easly as powerful as corded mag 77s.
@MattHmm-rq6dn7 ай бұрын
Definitely have to decide if it's worth it and you have a need for a new saw. Not all of us buy new tools for the sake of our addiction. There is a ton on the ryobi platform I use personally and would recommend for sure. My relative had a 9ah battery on that 5 3/8 brushed ryobi and it felt like a brick reminiscent of my flexvolt. I think expectations and balance for budgets is important. When all else fails put it on the Christmas list 😆.

It’s still showing up as $99 on mine. I did online and pick up in store, but my buddy also bought one today in store and it rang up for $99

6/13/24 both $99 saw only

Add it to your cart and it’ll reflect the $99. Don’t ask me why ✌🏻

Add it to your cart and select store pick up. You might also have to change the store as well.

You may also need to try a different zip code. I got both prices at stores only a few miles apart.

By the way not in stock in my area or 99 it's 160 time to play the waiting game or go to acme.

Yeah they only had 5 in stock and 20 available for delivery when I ordered. I was shocked my store even had one, I was able to do pick up in store.

Yea I just hit up 2 hds and nothing today when I was out for supplies. It would be a get it when it's reasonable not super full price.
@MORGANSMaintenance7 ай бұрын
@@MattHmm-rq6dn yeah it would have been hard for me to pay $160 with owning the other one already. $99 is a no brainer IMO. I figure after the $99 it will be full price with a free battery or something. My Depo has some, but they aren’t on the shelves, they are all up in the top not out to buy yet.

the 2521 is NEWER then the 2530?! how is 2530 older then 2521? This numbering system makes no sense at all!

I thought the same thing… I always hate trying to find the tool to put the code in when trying to win their monthly prize… the thing I believe doesn’t exist 😂
