Milwaukee M12 - My Top 7 & Bottom 3 Tools I CAN & CAN’T live without - Is your favorite on the list?

8 years ago I made the switch from Craftsman cordless tools to Milwaukee and I was strictly buying the M18 tools and overlooking the M12 tools thinking that they were to small and underpowered. 2 years ago I started getting arthritis in both hands, wrists, and shoulders so I bought the M12 drill and 1/4” impact driver combo. I was really impressed with how much power they had and they were half the weight of the M18 tools. Since then I’ve been buying M12 tools and they are really working out for me.

The smaller tools have come a long way in the last several years in all brands. My M12 stuff today is more powerful than the 18v stuff I had even just a few years ago. 👍👍

The thing I would replace with m12 is probably the impact drill, but I would get a surge hex. Other than that I'm happy with my m18's. If I need anymore tools, I'm going ryobi because they are cheaper, and some things like a nail gun, they actually perform better.

I was an early adopter of the Craftsman 19.2/C3 but as time goes by I've switched over particularly as the batteries go bad. I still have one drill driver that has the bevels on it that I use when I want a screw to go in perfect and also the original handheld router and it is a valuable tool but pretty much everything else is just sitting there. I have a neighbor kid who loves tools and I just bought a couple of Amazon after market batteries and I'm going to give him most of my 19.2 stuff. That started the battery tool craze now required tools way back. Now just go flourescent green if you wan them... Sears is long gone. I love my M12 tools... AND my Black and yellow tools 20 volt also for different reasons. Edit: next day. The kid came over and absolutely loved the tools. I forgot I had the chain saw as I take the M12 shortie or the DeWalt battery operated. He and his dad/brother do OHV's in the mountains. He was gaga over that as they had discussed getting a battery operated one. Actually, great saw, It's only failing is that bar oil pretty much just runs through it and on whatever is around, but anything 10 inces or so and you won't be stopped... I also had an unused 5.5 inch circ saw I got on clearance for dirt cheap and a couple of the old handheld spot lights (incandescent) with the swivel heads that frankly were some of the best flashlights for camping I ever had. I kept one. Easy to replace bulbs, bright, great. And some drills one impact driver. I have either M12 or Dewalt replacements now for everything...except that hand router. I love that thing.

My two favorites are the Surge Impact Driver and the Installation Drill. Funny, I use the small blower every day with the short nozzle for cleaning dust off areas, love that thing.

I still use it, and for what they say it’s for it works. It is just for full price the old smaller M18 would probably be better for me (since I have M18) Right now you can get it for around $60 if you buy the 6.0 Starter kit and return the batteries at HD. That’s a good price for it.

The Rotary or Regular. Both are good In my opinion. I deal with so much concrete the hammer drill is 100% necessary. The regular impact would have made my list for sure if I didn’t have the Surge. It is very stout as well. I like it well enough to have two. I’m a sucker for a deal 😂

I’ve got a good growing tool collection too, and 100% agree, hammer drill and impact driver are the 2 I use the absolute hell out of, the rest are way more for optional/niche purposes. In my tool bag I take to every job, 80% of the tools I pack/switch depending on the job, but the impact and drill are 2 that are in the bag on 100% of jobs (2953 and 2904)

Cabinet painter/installer here, my top two are the M12 Fuel Impact Gen3 (I call it the Mini Beast) & the Installation Driver. I run my M12 with an aftermarket 6 bit magnetic holder that attaches with a screw to the right side where a belt clip goes for quick bit change. Carry it in a Tough Built small drill holster. Love the power that tool has and the three lights around the bit. The Install Driver is great for those hard to reach areas with the offset and 90° heads. The magnet built into it is great for carrying bit. It's a little janky in the holster but it works.

I haven’t picked up the Gen 3. I have the Gen 2 but rarely use it over the Surge. I love the Installation Driver and it’s perfect for what you do. I bet it is hard to put in a holster. Thanks for sharing 👍

I’ve been in the m18 line for a few years due to being in demolition but now that I’m not in that field anymore I’m strongly considering the m12 line to use at home and it has more speciality tools that a homeowner would want

I use mine almost exclusively. I have some M18 drills/saws/impacts that I still get out for bigger jobs. Most of the time my M12 will still do everything the M18 will on those jobs when I use them… I just use them to not overwork the M12’s and have longer battery runtime. I really like the M12 line… lots of options.

Way late here. Came across your channel while researching the M12 Surge. I fell into the M12 line back in 2017 with the Gen 1 Hanmer drill driver and impact set. Many purchases since then 😂. My most used is the Hatchet since we’ve got a couple acres with woods. Works well with my Echo. Next is the installation driver. My favorite light is the Rover. Reading the comments, I had to laugh at all the “clean tool” comments. Not everyone works in a grease pit. My stuff gets used but I also keep them clean. I’m just a DIYer and side hustle. Subscriber now.

Appreciate it… I haven’t picked up the hatchet yet, but I had a company send me a little mini chainsaw and I use it a lot… so the M12 is on my “watch out for a crazy deal” list. Nice collection! I recently just got into the M12 line and I agree with you the size and power of these tools has really impressed me. Being able to get my drills in small areas without banging things around with bulky batteries has been a huge plus. One tool id recommended you don’t have is the shop vac, it’s so light weight and handy to clean up small messes on a job or around the house. I wish I got into this system years ago I love my 18s but these really do all I need.

I have the M18 vacuum (I bought before the M12 came out) but next time they run it with the free 6.0 battery I think I’m going to get it for the size. i have already converted 3 people that work around me a lot to M12. Once you use them and realize it’s not the old 12v stuff anymore it’s a no brainer to me. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Thanks for the update. Sounds like we’re all waiting on material these days. Great video. I’m mostly a DeWalt guy but have begun being pulled into Milwaukee like you. Been running the Installation driver and I LOVE it. I almost never reach for my 20v impact now unless I’m doing something serious. Thanks for putting the band saw on my radar, been going back and forth and Home Depot has a sale now so you’ve convinced me once again to buy a new tool. You’re such a good influence. Yeah I never used a bandsaw much but this one is so compact I reach for it a lot. Installation Driver is probably really my #2, as far as use, but I could get by without it having the Surge still at #1. I wouldn’t want to…but I could. Thanks for sharing and great to hear from you!

I got into the M12 line because of a remodle of my wife's sister's house. I bought the surge impact and the the hammer drill, they were indispensible. One that i was not sure of was the 3 inch cut off tool and i use it constantly for lots of things. My other indispensible tool is the Oscillating tool. My other tools in the collection are the rocket light, three way green laser (fantastic), flood light, hackzall and grease gun. I had used the 18 volt Ridgid for years and still have those as well, but almost never use them anymore. The size and weigh make a huge difference.

The Surge is what got me… but the size and weight is the biggest benefit… in the old days small tools wouldn’t do the job, now they just keep getting smaller and more powerful. Sounds like you are building a nice setup… thanks for sharing 👍

agreed on the oscillating tool, yes de blade change could make it perfect, but I use mine on drywall, finished walls that i need to cut clean along the angle or trim. best cuts ever! I am so good with it people stare and ask me to try, I use in one handed grabbing by the battery it's like an extension of my hand, i can not explain this enough I absolutely love it!

The newer one also cuts at a different angle making it harder to make precise cuts in my opinion. The new one is crazy powerful, but I only use it for certain things. The original is easier to use for sure. Appreciate your thoughts 👍

I have a bunch of the original brushed tools BECAUSE of their size including "footprint." I primarily have M12 for my travel trailer and then in any cabinet setting inside or out. The wet dry vac, the inflator and the grease gun are invaluable. My BIG tools are black and yellow and include FlexVolt. They build decks, big jobs. But my favorite circular saw is the Atomic 4.5 inch saw. Truly handy. I hardly ever break out a big circular saw anymore. One handed if necessary... But, I love my M12 tools.

Great list. I am really impressed with the line up they offer. Really liking the hydraulic impact so far. The die grinders are really handy for little metal working tasks. Not a rugged tool but nimble. My battery died and they replaced it no problem.

(which it doesn’t seem to go on often) I’ve only had one 6.0 die on me but it was one of my oldest ones. I didn’t try sending it in. I’ve never used Milwaukee’s warranty, but glad to know it works. I had a chuckle at the end, the m12 blower is one of my favorite tools in my garage shop because it works plenty well in small spaces to clean up dust and debris without pushing to much up into the air. I was using a 6 gallon shop vsc previously but it was a pain to lug and roll around the space regularly. Bonus with it is its just powerful enough to blow off dry leaves off our small deck. So it works great for my use cases. I am really interested in getting the surge but I already have the fuel impact and a dewalt 20v impact so I really don't see how a 3rd would be justifiable since Im just a weekend warrior for woodworking.

Yeah the blower isn’t a bad tool, for what it is intended for… I just thought for the price I payed it wasn’t the most bang for my buck. That’s where I leave mine all the time too… I use it to blow off my workbench. If you don’t use them daily you won’t get as much benefit of the sound/feel. If you get a chance though and find a friend that has one… put in a screw or two with a Surge. Appreciate your thoughts 👍

11:44 I keep my 6mm hex in my left knife pocket in my belt I got rid of the inner locking wheel (makes switching parts so much slower), it only takes a turn and a half (without having to remove the locking bolt) and the blades slip right out. change a blade in 3 seconds

I just got the M12 fan. Its so much smaller and lighter than the Dewalt I had. The best feature is the full 360 rotation of the fan. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is battery life. I put in a fresh 2 AH battery and used half of it in 2 hours on the low setting. The plus side is that the low setting was fine for working indoors. I bumped it up to medium while working on an automatic door in 95 degree heat with high humidity. I set it on the floor and climbed the ladder and it kept me cool. All in all, a great purchase!

Thanks for sharing. I have the M18 but I really like how the M12 has the magnetic base and the spring clamp. I think I will be able to use it so much more often because of that. My store supposedly had 7 in stock so I ordered it to pick up in store but they couldn’t find them and cancelled my order. So now I have to re-order and ship to home which I don’t like doing but I can’t ship to store since they “supposedly” have 7. I will get one eventually but glad to hear someone’s opinion on it. Because I got so used to not using one (and using a different tool of some kind instead), I wasn’t sure if wanted the M12. I caught it on sale one day and I find myself using it quite a bit. I have the installation driver also. Before I bought it, I read reviewers didn't like the reverse button being a membrane button on the top instead of a conventional slide switch near the trigger. I bought it anyway thinking I'd adapt. I was wrong, I absolutely hate the reverse switch.

I am a HVAC/R technician. I use M12 for everything. Very, very rarely do I have to pull out an M18 to get anything done. My tool pack, back, wrist, shoulders and elbows are very happy about that.

the m12 rivet gun was my first Milwaukee product and kick started my conversion over to m12 and m18. I would definitely recommend going with the Fuel and HO battery options.

The M12 range has many great tools as a plumber I love the little reciprocal saw the pipe cutter and impact driver. The worst tool the vacuum cleaner it has no go and a stupid filter that blocks up as soon as you try to vacuum drill dust the very thing I bought it for ! I went back to the dust pan and brush

As long as you don’t think it’s a beam saw… it is really good for its size. I figure, why carry storing a heavy saw to cut 3/4 boards? It can do some bigger stuff, but not as fast. I grab mine out of my truck over my Rear Handle all the time because that thing is heavy.

I just want to compliment you on cleaning up your tools for this video - I'm sure that in their "natural state" they are covered with drywall dust and such but they really look great here! My bottom 1 Milwaukee tool is the M18 0882-20 compact vacuum. I'm spoiled by my Dyson in the house and this thing is just plain disappointing in it's lack of suction.

I got into the M12 line because of the ratchets. I would have loved to have them when I was still an auto mechanic, but I still use them all the time at home. I prefer the 1/4" drive one but I also have the 3/8" (mine are the older brushed versions). My favs are the ratchets, the 3" cutoff wheel and surprisingly the non fuel cordless screwdriver. I use the impacts as well, but I use the screwdriver one more often. It's so comfortable and I don't ruin as many screws with it. I'm eyeballing the bandsaw, I don't really need it, but I really want one 😅😅😅

Yeah I have the 3/8 High Speed Ratchet but I don’t use it as much in my work as many people do. Mostly home use. I use my installation driver quite a bit much for the same reasons as you on the non-fuel screwdriver. I use my bansdsaw way more than I thought… but after seeing the Fuel, it is still very compact with a bigger cut capacity. I would like to get it someday. Appreciate you sharing your thought 👍👍

I have a bunch of those. M12 Surge is probably my most used tool(I have the M18 also). I have to say I love the stapler. It is over priced but works so much better than the old manual one. It’s great for replacing screens and attaching upholstery to plywood. I just got the circ saw but haven’t tried it yet.

I have the M18 Surge too. It is really almost identical. Yeah for some people the stapler if used a lot is worth the price. I want to say I ended up getting mine for $79 after returning a battery. I’m glad I have it, but I don’t use it real often to pay $120 for it. You are right though, it’s definitely better than a hand one. I really like the circular saw, really light and compact but does most task just fine.

A decent manual stapler in Canada runs for around $40-$50 at Home Depot. I got the stapler for $109.99 and I'm just a home owner who uses it occasionally. Originally I had a manual one but returned and spent the return money on the m12 stapler. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I agree there’s something about that brushed multi tool. It just feels perfect in the hand and the blade seems to vibrate at just the right speeds for precision work where you aren’t moving around at all

I build lots of furniture and use the stapler to put up the skinny sheets that often cover the backs of cabinets that take 150 little loose pin nails. Works good for that.

If you can catch it on sale (or if you will use it a bunch) it’s worth having. None of my bottom are “junk” tools. I just don’t use them enough. They could be someone else’s #1

Yeah the Rotary Hammer is really nice for anchors (tapcons, etc). They run it on sale with free batteries or something occasionally. That’s when I picked mine up.

The two I use the most out of my M12 collection are the metal nibbler and the blower... I use the nibbler almost everyday for building pole barns and I use the blower for cleaning out the back of my truck and for job site sawdust. Favorite tool is the M12 SDS hammer drill which I use for Drive-In rivets in masonry chimneys when I have to flash them

Yeah I would like to have that nibbler. I use the blower for the same purpose, clean my tools off and my workbench… it’s not that is a bad tool, just don’t feel like it’s a blower worth it’s price when I bought it. Thanks for sharing 👍

😂… it probably does get used the most. I had the Surge first and I normally always grabbed it, but the Installation driver has slowly been edging it out. It goes in spurts with those two, just depends on what I’m doing.

You do a really nice job cleaning your tools. My next m12 will be the installation driver. The offset head is the main reason. The surge impact driver will replace my other standard fuel one. I have an older non fuel multi tool. The battery keeps disconnecting. Not fall out, just loose the connection. The battery doesn't lock in well enough. Size, weight and power of the m12 line have me buying them more than the m18. Those I buy for the more powerful needs. You need to get a hackzall next. You may replace or at least take a good load off the band saw. Nice review!

I try to clean them very often so that it’s just a few tools at a time then trying to find hours to do all of them. I really like both the Surge and the Installation Driver. They are definitely my most used tools. I’ve been waiting to see if they are going to come out with newer versions of them. I’ve had other people tell me that about the Multi-tool. The Fuel Version has been growing on me and since this video and I use it more often now. I just get out the older one for more delicate cuts. It’s easier to control. Most 12v tools these days are better than the 18v I had 10 years ago. All power tools have improved crazy fast in the last decade. I’m like you, I have M18 stuff… but my M12 works 90% of the time. I only have M18 in the tools not offered in M12, or they are something I’m going to use for long periods of time and want to use bigger batteries. Appreciate you sharing 👍

Yeah. I remember the feels I had when I put in my first screw with it. It was very similar to the first time I used a Dewalt 18v impact when all I had used was drills before. It does probably 85% of what I need it to.. the other 15% is very few and far between and typically a drill. Three guys work around me pretty often and we’re Dewalt guys… they all still run Dewalt but they now have 12v Surges.

Great list of m12 tools. I am an Electrician and I recently sold my non fuel m12 bandsaw. It didn't have the capacity to cut 2" emt conduit. I bought the m12 fuel version and its much better with its 2 1/2" cutting capacity.

I inherited 2-3 old Arrow staplers, from when my parents upholstered something once or twice. Years ago I bought a different manual stapler because is was a bit of an improvement for a project. I now have the M12 Stapler en route ... but yes, it's used from eBay. I have some radiant barrier foil I'll be installing in my attic, and would like to not be fighting the tool while doing so.

I like the little bandsaw too, but it doesn't get much use. I've got one of those SWAG tables with a Harbor Freight full sized metal bandsaw mounted in it and that is the go-to, but too heavy to be easily mobile. But if I ever do need to do some metal cutting on the road, I'll be glad I have it.

I've got the Install driver, an old m12 drill (gutless), newest drill and impact set and the pin nailer. I love the install driver, my favorite drill I own, wish the FWD/RVS was like every other drill out there but still like it. I must have a dud pin nailer because mine won't sink 3/4" pins in pine.

Interesting - seeing the size of tool in your hands is really helpful also. The blower seems like it might be more helpful if it had a detail attachment, like a really small focused tip for like blowing out computers or keyboards. My man fell into the Milwaukee rabbit hole lol. But I agree with the M12 Surge. That was my first M12 purchase and man, I fell in love with that thing after the first use. I had the M18 hammer drill when I first started working in the apartment maintenance industry and I realized it was too big. I purchased the Ryobi driver kit thinking it would be smaller, but nope. The batteries alone was as big as the tool. After about a week I paid $159 for the M12 Surge and battery. Haven't looked back since. Going on my 3rd year with that tool. But like you, I started expanding the M12 line. I do have the M12 Fuel oscillating tool and stapler. I agree with the stapler. I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. The M12 tire inflator comes in handy too. That's a tool I'd look into if you're on the road a lot.

My most used M12 tool is the M12 Hex Screwriver. The low end brushed model 2401. I heard people rave about it, but I was skeptical because it’s the least torque and lowest RPM of the 3 hex screwdrivers in the M12 line. Now I understand why people rave about it. The clutch works very well, it’s get enough power and speed for most tasks including light drilling in wood/plastic. Basically useful for all fasteners up to about 3/8”. It’s always on the top of my tool bag because it’s the most used tool. D I also have and love the M12 Fuel Hammer Drill (2504) and the M12 Fuel Surge “impact driver” (2551). Hardly ever need my 18V tools because those usually have all the power I need. The size and weight puts them well ahead of nearly all 18/20V tools, even the subcompacts. I originally had an M12 Fuel Impact Driver (2553), but it was stolen, and I replaced it with the Surge. The Impact Driver is somewhat faster, more powerful, and lighter, but it’s also 10-12db louder, and I find that the slight loss of speed and power is minor compared to the much quieter operation of the Surge, both for my hearing, and for any people working in the office/building I’m using it in. The price of the Surge (2551) vs the Fuel Impact Driver (2553) is the only thing that was a bit painful.

I pretty much only use the caulk gun on adhesives (vinyl base, subfloor, etc) which it’s good for that, especially the big tubes. I don’t use it for any finish caulk. I use the blower to blow off my work bench, and that’s about it. None of my bottom tools are “bad tools”… I just don’t use them enough for what the price is for them. That’s like the stapler is way better than a hand held… but not worth $120 for how much I use it

The M12 600 mcm cable cutter is a top 3-5 tool for me. Also have the M18 force logic crimper with the 750mcm cutter jaws. I’ll use the m18 if it’s a tight access cut and need the rotating head.

It has its uses… some people like it. It’s just not real powerful. I keep mine in the back of my truck now to blow off drywall/sawdust before getting in. It does “ok” at that. It is compact which is nice… just not powerful enough to have A Lot of uses… for me anyways. That’s just my opinion on it. You may love it. I never had an issue with my Bosch except availability of tools. The power wasn’t as good as my Milwaukee, but all my Bosch tools were brushed… so not apples to apples. I’m sure the newer Bosch tools are as good. Milwaukee just has more options, and it’s easier to get my hands on. All power tools these days are pretty amazing… it’s really nitpicking when you get into differences a lot of times. 👍👍

Great video. You've got me thinking about the finishing drill more. I've mainly been using the Fuel 1/4" Hex 2-Speed screwdriver for those task though. That M12 saw really impressed me a lot, although I eventually sold mine and replaced it with a m18 saw. I tell people all the time though, don't under estimate that saw. My first drill was the m12 drill/driver set, and that M12 saw. I built a bar with that setup. I tend to use a Makita track saw these days, but that drill/driver set is still my go-to on projects as such.

Yeah 12v stuff has come along way. All battery stuff has. The amount of change with tools in the last 10 years has been crazy. The M12 saw won’t do everything… but I love it for the stuff it will do. On the drill it seems to be Love/hate with people. It’s normally the button instead of the switch that really bugs people. I don’t mind it. I use mine a lot and really like it.

Agree Surge is the best, even prefer it over my 18V-24v impacts. 2 of my other favorites is the 3" cutoff tool, especially since so small and useful to cut pipes in HD parking lot to fit in car. M12 Hatchet is also amazing for lawn and brush management.

I had the Bosch 12v FlexiClick… not the brushless model.. I liked how the heads attached better than M12, I liked the size, but the power made me have to still carry an impact with me. The M12 Installation Driver has enough power to do most any day to day task. It’s brushless and the newer Bosch version is as well. It may well be as good, I’m not sure. I mostly leaned away from Bosch for lack of tools, and availability to me. No stores around me carry very much of them. I like their tools, just like Milwaukee a little better.

It is pretty rare for me to get out M18 stuff. Really just larger remodel jobs, and even then only for certain aspects. I can still do it with primarily M12. The older I get, I am loving the lighter tools. Tools have changed so much over the years and I think we are really lucky to be doing our work in this time period. As a handyman I love the M12 tools, lightweight, large varity, and cheaper then the larger 18 and 20 volt systems other brands have. Two tools I recently purchased that I didn't think I needed, but was suprised on how often I reach for them are the 3 inch cutoff wheel and the right angle die grinder. the cutoff wheel is perfect for cutting small ferris metals and tiles. and the die grinder is basically a bigger verson of a dremel with tons of attachemtns, i usually use the sanding pads for cleaning up burrs and such. Sure M12 tools arn't the most powerful, but if you're like me and need a wide varity of them they are perfect.

I have an M12 fuel drill/driver and impact driver combo kit. I’m happy I started my Milwaukee tool journey. I’m looking forward to getting 5 more M12 fuel tools down the road. That stubby is really good if you do any work that needs it… I just got the impact sockets too and love them. (That white ink is nice) I couldn’t get by without an oscillating tool though… depends on what you do. I have and love the 3/8 non-impact socket set from Milwaukee. Not as easy to read as the impacts, but the sockets are beveled so they don't roll at all, which is more awesome than it sounds, and I don't typically do impact things on 3/8, although it can handle it. I use my ICON 1/2 sockets for that along with my M18 impact driver.

I still use mine for blowing myself and my tools off before getting in my truck. It has its uses.. I just didn’t like what it costs for what I can use it for. I will say with a little more time, it’s been growing on me. Thanks for your thought 👍

You should add the two M12 Fuel 1/4” die grinders ( straight /90% ) . I too love the M12 pinner ! Also good in glueing applications ! We must be Brothers !

I use the crap out of my blower in my shop.. its great on active construction sites too. somewhat mediocre as a leaf blower but when you're trying to move stuff without moving it too much (making a pile of sawdust to sweep up) that blower is fantastic! Have you tried the m12 hand planer yet?? It's a really great tool.

That is where I have ended up leaving mine. I keep the blower sitting on my work bench. It is a good blower to move dust and not objects… I just feel it was a little pricey for that. I just picked up the planer. I already had the Bosch and loved it. I was glad to get the Milwaukee to get one step closer to being on the same batteries.

Awesome video! I love my m12 tools. I couldn’t agree more on the fuel impact, Multitool, and bandsaw. I use my 3/8 m12 stubby and ratchet a lot as well so it would be in my top 7. Another m12 tool I’m utilizing a lot is the fuel wet/dry vacuum with the new air-tip collection. Looking forward to seeing that air snake in action! Been on my list to get for awhile now. Again awesome video!

Thanks. I love my stubby but I’m not as heavy in that type of work as others. If I did a lot of mechanic work it would probably be my #1… it’s that good. I have the M18 Gen 2 vacuum and have thought about getting the M12. Does the hose store inside of that one? That’s what I like about my M18.

@@JasenRitt I wish I would have bought it awhile back. They had it with the 6.0 for like $99. I really don’t need batteries, but at that price… why not. I’m sure they will do it again. When thy do I will probably go ahead and buy it. The 6.0 batteries for M12 are amazing. They last forever in most of the tools.

I love my m12 wet vacuum too, it saves my kitchen once when there's overflow to the floor, it's a great tool to dry some bad leaking. I do find my ratchet useful once in very narrow space, however, that's before I got the m12 installation driver, so can't tell if a ratchet is overkill in my tool set.

I have since picked up the cut-off tool. I didn’t have it yet when I filmed this. It was probably the most suggested. It is a super nice tool. I’ve used it for a lot of metal, but also tile/grout work.

Agree 100%. Most people don’t like the forward/reverse switch but I actually prefer it. The way I hold it, my thumb can reach it super easy. Thanks for sharing!

@@MORGANSMaintenance I don't mind the location, I just mind the fact that I cannot detect current gear through tactile feedback. Looking at the indicator is required. On a traditional drill/driver the push-pull gear switch can be detected without looking.

I purchased m12 tools first before I bought my first m18 surge impact driver. Dewalt was my initial choice for cordless tools but the size and durability changed my thinking also the low sale prices was a huge factor in my decision and Home Depot made it easy. I didn’t have to be at home waiting for my purchase to arrive. I could pick it up at my convenience.

I was the same way. I have the M18 and M12 surge. If you catch the tools on the right deals at Home Depot you can get Milwaukee as cheap (or cheaper) than the rest of them. Thanks for sharing 👍

The Surge is the best 👍👍 I use Houdini Cleaner and I clean them after I'm done using them. I also do a lot of different things so their use gets spread out instead of somebody that does a specific trade and uses the same tool over and over.

I agree that the M12 line is very capable. The SDS is a beast. My M12 Jigsaw is my biggest dissapointment.

I don’t mind the jig saw for its size but it isn’t real powerful. I also don’t use a jigsaw a bunch for some reason. I’m surprised they haven’t came out with a Fuel Version yet. The original jig saw has been out for quite awhile I think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts👍
