Against other bosses, Morgott doesn’t really shine, but his unrelenting attacks on NPC character’s really makes him near-unstoppable. Well done!

Underwhelming only in the sense that he's weak and easy to just tank everything he throws at you. If not for that then he's a very complex boss like Malenia only he doesn't have the stats to back that complexity up.

@@lmtalpha6382Moveset complexity isn't everything. Morgott's delayed attacks look contrived and stupid compared to, say, the Nameless King's fluidity. Most of his combos in phase 2 are basically just flailing randomly everywhere for a long time like Mergo's Wet Nurse without any semblance of skill. He lacks the spectacle and the factor of awe that Radahn, Maliketh, Mohg and Malenia possess. Some of his attacks like the sword-storm have such a long casting time that he'd actually be harder if he didn't have them. Furthermore, he also doesn't prepare you appropriately for the late game, as Fire Giant and Mountaintops are a huge difficulty spike compared to Leyndell.

@@Count.Saruman I feel like saying that he's just "flailing randomly" undermines the effort that went into his animations. He has a level of fluidity and refinement between hits that only few bosses can match. Only one move exists that I would consider flailing around and it's the desperation move he does below 30% HP which is meant to be that way. Sure his dagger follow ups seemingly come out of nowhere with little wind up (even though they're positioning based) but besides that then everything flows together flawlessly or has set follow ups that always happen.

Personally, Morgott has one of the sickest movesets among From games, people just never look at it as more than a nuance because of how little damage he does, so most of us never bother to learn it. When you try to master Morgott's fight you learn how intense is this guys, his attack animations, and his relentless combos to the point that it feels like a sword dance when you do it perfect, just as all top tier Souls fights feel in your final attempt. I only wished he was scaled up to a more difficult area like Mountaintops, because yeah, he doesn't prepare you for what is to come normally.

Not bad for morgott. I believe he lost 3 times (2 of which, we all probably expected) So happy to see his moveset shine. His attacks feel perfectly timed to catch the end of the NPC’s rolls

Well, well, with the exception of Nepheli and Bernahl who are both just stupidly overpowered because of their high level I suppose it is now plain to see that he was programmed to be a Tarnished-killer

Really, morgott is a boss much more focused on npcs, although he can also do a lot of damage to other bosses. Funny that he looks like a mix of bulids and ds3 weapons, he uses the carthus curved greatsword with bleed imbue, the ledo hammer, and for the spear the javelin of the farron followers, with the daggers being the kukris, with a touch of holy magic, so he would have a strength-dexterity-faith build right?

Morgott is one of the best bosses From ever created. He is so underrated because most people use Melina as a summon so don't even learn his moveset

or just overlevel/overpower him. He definitely should've had much much more health considering his Great Rune gives you that huge health boost when you use it, and the Great Runes are the lore reason why Malenia heals too.

How about maliketh (vanilla with 5k beast clergyman, 5k maliketh) against tarnished? I think all the top 10% tarnished have more hp than him. It will be interesting to see if they can outdamage him.(especially since there wont be pillars to jump off in this arena)

My only real gripe with Morgott is his lack of a second phase. The ground explosions almost never make an impact and his blood attacks are easy to dodge and leave him wide open. Other than that, his fight is sick as hell.

he just needs wayyy more health. his moveset and mixups are really hard but for some reason Fromsoftware gave him such little health... it sucks because overleveled his fight is too easy and even shit, but properly leveled the fight is amazing and the OST shines even more
