It’s funny how I feel like Cardolan got the biggest glow up and glow down simultaneously. I like the greenway models from the last patch way more than the Tharbad models, but everything else looks way better, so I’d say it’s overall a positive change. Looking forward to this battle. Despite the attackers winning, I have to say the Witchers are the most annoying unit ever created for Third Age. People make all sorts of claims but the truth is that the Witchers are easy to use and punishing to the extreme. People act like the attackers could have done many things differently to adjust for the Witchers but no. You need mass to attack in these situations and their aren't many alternatives to getting in.

Witchers are straight up a scourge and a really lazy tool. Glad they didn't decide this game and well done to Cardolan for getting his head back in the game

Watching the two points of attack it was obvious from the get go that the Lindon player was on his game this day. As far as Unlucky well it was a bad day at the office for sure but after he lost two units the Dwarfs should have taken the lead on both sides of the wall why did they not I wonder..................and with all of Cardolans archers they let the witchers grill the hammers with out a shot. I am cursing the witchers with everyone else! LOL

I think the reason why Lindon has been doing so well in this patch is that the improvements they've received play extremely well with their endurance. Elven troops simply don't tire as easily and Lindon's light nature means they tire even more slowly. Once Lindon infantry get into melee, they just cut down and outlast their opposing numbers. They also have enough ranged punch to nullify enemy skirmishers to allow their troops to reach melee.

That wasn't simply unluck. Cardolan just plain played poorly and brought a very bad composition for dealing with Angmar.

To be fair there was a lot of ranged units for the orcs to deal with to. The defenders especially the Misty Mountains really need their ranged units to be effective in order for them to win. Lindon is a very poor matchup for the goblins as their armor piercing is pretty much useless. Fair play to Lindon they really bailed there team out in this fight. The witchers are really Angmar's only ranged option because without them the Attackers would have blown through the orcs. If you don't like the witchers then give them a unit of armor piercing mid-tier unit or a dedicated ranged unit of some sort that is at least decent in combat. Angmar is good at taking pressure, but they do damage relatively slowly. I think Angmar made a mistake bringing calvary and trolls over bodyguard foot units a little more quality on foot might have been enough or not.

Hey Nathan about bringing foot bodyguard units instead of specifically cav from angmar i do not agree with you. The inquisitors did quite some damage and their overall mobility served them really well. About the trolls i don't know bcz i mostly only listened to the first half of the battle but from hearing they did big damage to the attacking units on the walls and morale damage sooo..... About that suggestion i disagree with you. Why would you get bodyguard infantry and what would be the added worth of it in comparison to the trolls and cav?

@@MarkGlowInTheDark In my opinion I think Misty would have been better off dealing with the Cardolan units as the Armor piercing would be more effective. If the Hammer Guard were brought, they would have been a big pain for the armored units in conjunction with the barrows and goblin forces. Not saying they would win but it would be more efficient. Angmar is a tougher opponent for the elves because they are really resilient. Lindon would be a pain no matter who dealt with them, but I think Angmar would have done a better job since they have pikes and the witchers. The trolls did do well but the cavalry I feel would just be harder to use. Again, both sides did well with what they had. The defenders did a good job with their Trolls and specialty units so good job on them for giving us a good fight.

How can the Witchers be faulted in this battle if the attackers are behaving blind? What did they expect in a battle against Angmar? A dedicated archer unit has to be kept ready to shoot them on sight or atleast attack them when they are in front of your units!!

Also I never understood why Cardolan bought men at arms and other basic units in a team battle. Get the elites and the pikes, archers and crossbows. Go archer heavy in a team battle because that is what the faction is good at like Dale

Pretty stupid comment… Can’t shoot through a mountain and if you send your troops in one by one they will be slaughtered. Witchers are a joke, that needs purging from the game.

I'm not as forgiving as much due to Medieval 2's braindead AI. CA's known for years even back as 2016 that it was bad,and they've done nothing to fix it. Even in newer titles the AI's been bad as well. If you aren't going to fix it, give us decent modding tools so the modding community can try.

It's easy to blame witchers, but really it's just bad attackers. You could have just used a catapult with flaming shot for the EXACT same outcome.

It does work,but not in a siege fight on a map such as moria. It's better suited to a more open map.

A I've played the mod plenty to know situations in which fire arrows are useful are rare and far in-between - standard shot especially for elves is a total waste given the accuracy
