This, most of Calli's songs are always so meaningful if you read the lyrics. They are so well thought, usually depicting Calli's own thoughts & state of mind when she wrote the lyrics. She's not just randomly mixing rhyme words.
@stein94592 жыл бұрын
@@Cosmoman78 I agree, but I think her recent collaboration with UMG Japan really pushed away all out her creativity in her recent album. The latest album seems so "generic" even her lyrics, they did her so bad. Regardless she really is so good at coming up on lyrics, I love how metaphorical it is always. She always spoke deep and touching that sometimes I just feel goosebumps like she's really talking to me through her songs (excluding the UMG releases).
@DoctorWhoKage2 жыл бұрын
@@stein9459 well, if it makes you feel any better, this is UMG Japan, not UMG America. So there is a 0% chance they'll turn her into Doja Calli or Calli Minaj or Calli Thee Stallion or Calli B and Calli wouldn't have agreed to this if they didn't give her any lyrical freedom.
@kumuhana Жыл бұрын
@@stein9459 this is a late reply but her first album (it's actually an EP since it's less than 8 songs) with UMG (shinigami note) seems so "generic" because that's how calli intended it to be. She literally said multiple times before and after her first EP that she made it different because she wanted to try something different and to maybe hit the mainstream a bit more but her recent album now is more of calli's style so hopefully you liked it more ^^

The song is so pretty and heartfelt and has always been a favorite from the UnAlive album (and its always sounded great when performed live too). The MV suits it so well too. I really love the art style, its very cute and combined with the great choice in color palette, its a very pleasant & pretty MV to look at. The shift from the darker blue colors to the lighter pink colors towards the end of the song was a great stylistic choice to go along with the hope present in the lyrics. Another great MV has been added to the catalogue

This song is right up there with End of a Life as being my favorite songs from Calli! The lyrics really hit hard in both cases and never cease to get me into that kind of melancholic, yet hopeful atmosphere. The style of the MV was so good, really different from what we've seen in the past from you and that's appropriate for this song, it really fits! Ebi and Astro really killed it! It honestly does give me JRPG end credits vibes and I know I'm not the first to say that. Like, think a modern day set JRPG. Persona was indeed my initial thought when I first heard it, but I can also see these lyrics being used appropriately to end a new Caligula Effect game

a couple things: I absolutely love Camellia’s work oml, this and Dead on Arrival are both produced by this amazing and underrated music producer, I just love their style so much. The artwork is absolutely beautiful throughout this entire MV, the theme fits perfectly with the song and the transitions are astonishingly smooth and well coordinated. I love the soft but slightly dark themes expressed in this song and the MV portrays this beautifully. I personally really appreciate the lyrics in the MV being in romaji. As someone who’s studying Japanese, this was just a nice touch that made the song easier for me to understand as I read along. Then of course, Mori Calliope’s amazing talent as a songwriter cannot go without praise. I personally really like lyric MV’s as they allow me to gain a better understanding of the song, this is especially the case with Mori Calliope’s works. Whenever she writes a new song they almost always hold more than one meaning, and manage to convey a lot whilst also leaving the message open to her audience. How she manages to do this is absolutely beyond me, it must take someone who really loves what they do to produce music as great as she does. Seeing Mori Calliope grow over these past years and learn new skills that she can use in her singing/songwriting has been an awe-inspiring experience for me personally, and I’m very excited to see how much more she grows. As a J-rock fan I am also particularly excited for her new jrock sing coming out in her next album iirc, I really can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us. TLDR: amazing producer, amazing MV, amazing song, amazing Calli.

Didn't mind it at first but now Scuffed Up Age is one of my favorite songs from the "UnAlive" album, and that's because of its message. There can be a lot of bad days but what matters is how you face them and how you face life and the world around you. You can either give up and let every problem step on you, or smile through the pain and keep on going despite the struggles. I used to be cynical and had a very, very negative outlook on the world and everyone living on it, and even after falling into the vtuber rabbit hole those thoughts still persisted, even on this year, but recently I've calmed down and realized I've been harsh to a lot of people, even for the tiniest of problems, and now I'm trying to correct myself into having better thoughts as well as trying to not be harsh to others, and not let the bad news fall into that same cynical mindset i had for years. Calli has been through a lot of tough times, but she persisted through them, reaching higher and higher and eventually getting to where she is now, and that, in and of itself, is *inspiring...*

On top of being my favorite UnAlive track, I think this is also the first Calli original that really made me cry, and it got me crying during the first few listens. And honestly, while I wouldn't mind the more hyped-up sounds I hear from releases like the Dead Beats EP and the Shinigami Note EP, I wish they had more of this sort of lyricism, these inspired words that express not only how sick and tired one is about life but also how they're using that frustration as a reason to love and not hate. I mean, even haters, with even me being able to be one of them, want to love right, right? And we're already living with more than enough pride, which we often mix up with love. So yeah, I think this song represents me as a Dead Beat the most right now, and I feel more assured about that as I know that the Dead Beats had some direct involvement in the writing of this song's lyrics. With all that said, thank you very much for also having a music video produced for this song, Calli. And again, I wish us all more strength and worthwhile times.

This is my favorite Calli song. Maybe along with end of a life, but definitely at the top. And is the message that I love the most. I'm not sure if this is exactly what's intended to understand from the song, but to me, it's truly inspiring and uplifting. The world is pretty bad a lot of the time, but that doesn't mean we should be the same way. Life is beautiful, and we should try to appreciate it. Even if we can't help but be sad a day, two days, a week or a month, we truly have something special in our hands. I don't want to sound too optimistic either, cause that would go against the message of the song, but don't be sad to feel sad. It's ok, it's normal and pretty common too. But tomorrow we should hope for it to be different. Even if in the end it doesn't happen. It's just the fact that we're constantly trying that will eventually bring us happiness. There's a lot of feelings of optimism and happiness that I get that I can't express my words fluently enough for it to make sense, and the fact that I'm almost asleep at this point probably doesn't help either. But the song is beautiful and brings me a lot of joy to my heart. I'm sorry I can't express that well enough, but thank you. For this and everything you make Calli. Thank you.

Something about the lyrical theme, as well as the art style and animation for this MV hits me the same way as certain kurzgesagt videos. It seems like a critical bit of wisdom to keep in mind for this age, recognizing that the world is much bigger than you, and that it might not want things to go your way-it gives you better perspective on what you CAN accomplish, and what's important enough to fight for.
