Works on 2014/15 Chevy Silverado 1500 with projector style headlights
This demo was done on a set of 2500 headlights (junk) but it is the same on the 1500 projector style headlights as well.
Notes:
- no need to remove the lenses for this upgrade.
- the top screws go back into the original holes and when tightened the head of the screw will clamp down on the edge of the projector. This is a very strong hold!
- bottom brackets include new longer screws.
- if you have a soldering iron available the best way to wire the OEM low beam to the ballast input is by soldering and not like shown in the video (inserting into OEM plug). Method shown in the video is intended for those who dont have access to a soldering tool.
- it is recommended that you mount your Hykux ballast securely somewhere under the hood of your truck.

Great vid, thinking about installing the D2S 5.0 in my '18 silverado 3500. I have the Morimoto HID kit and have already lost one bulb and one ballast in less than 6 months. I've been reading people are having better luck with the Hylux 35 watt ballasts vs the Morimoto XB35.

I did this mod on my 2015 2500HD and when I went to reassemble it in the truck the BCM wouldn't turn on the headlights. Any idea how to get it to work? I reset the BCM. There aren't any fuses. The parking lights still work. I'm stumped. Thanks

Hey Donald. That is definitely an odd issue. Did you use one of our kits?

Also, check polarity in the ballast input plug. If it is reversed thry won't turn on.

@@sherpr802002 Thanks for responding. I finally got it figured out, one of the pins in the factory low beam plug pushed back and wasn't making connection. I actually used a D2S bulb and igniter. I had to soften the cap for the housing so it would fit. I had the kit left over from a car that I sold and never installed. Thanks again

Which bulb and ballast did you use here? I installed a D2S projector in my 2015 and there isn't enough room for the D2D bulb and igniter

Morimoto D2H and Hylux 2A88 35 watt ballast.👍

I like this idea. So I've done a few of these to my truck, my dads, and a friends with the steel brackets that came about a few years ago. Biggest complaint is that the D2S sits back away from the factory bezel about a 1/2" or so. The steel brackets with spacers are a contributing factor in this, and also the D2S is shorter than the factor projector. I'm wondering how much of that space is eliminated by mounting straight to the factory housing with these new "bottom brackets". Do you have any pics somewhere? Also, would adding a little bit of a longer top screw and a small washer t add a little bit of security?

With my 1500 LTZ I believe my low beams do not stay on with my high beams. Does this kit some how allow them to stay on or is there another step?

You will need beam splitters. It's a"Y" harness that will put power to the solenoid on the projector when the high beam is triggered.

I believe what @caseman is mentioning is that the actual low beam shuts off when high beam is activated making the bi-xenon useless. But the answer is no, the low beam stays on with the high beam. This has been the way since 2007.
