Yes, you got it right. Many words in Tagalog were coined or derived from the Spanish language. Gusto Ko nang Bumitaw, would translate as I Like to (or I Want to) Let Go, in English.

I am seeing in my feeds that you have at least 4 reactions today for her -- Rise Up, I Finally Found Someone, International Singers' High Notes, and this "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw". So, my day will be busy watching and liking your reactions. 😁👍 I agree with all your comments, Morissette can do it all when it comes to singing, she can sing soft and delicate like a Disney Princess, and she can belt it out like the singing divas that we know of. In addition to these, she can squeak and growl, and whistle, that only a few others can. I wish that Wish 107.5 have a put a subtitle for the English translation of this song, I don't know why they haven't, I'm pretty sure they know that a lot of non-Tagalog speakers and non-Filipino viewers and reactors would certainly watch this video. Anyways, I am glad that you felt the emotions of the song despite not understanding exactly what it says. It's actually a heartbroken song, used as soundtrack for a TV drama series entitled "The Broken Marriage Vow". The lyrics of the song are from the point of view of the wife who, as you said it correctly, was going through something. She is in love with her husband but he is cheating on her. She is hurt, sad, in pain, angry at the same time in love. Can you imagine what it feels like to be cheated by your beloved? So she "wants to let go" (gusto ko nang bumitaw), but her heart is saying "no" (ngunit ayaw pa ng puso). Morissette was specifically chosen by the show producers to make a rendition of the song as the series' soundtrack, because they know her talent and abilities, how she can embody the meaning of the song through her singing. This was literally a breathtaking performance she did on the Wish Bus, like you I also feel the chills and goosebumps and get mind-blown every time I watch it. 🥰

She does use falsetto when it's called for, but she uses it very well. She uses it in Fly Like a Bird, and some in Secret Love Song (Wish Bus). She can do it all. Queen Mori. Other Wish Bush performances you should check out are Will You Stay (for something a bit different), as well as Naririnig Mo Ba to name a couple.

Love this song, the live Band Version is even better, in ONE TAKE after a short rehearsal, so go Morissette Amon Gusto ko nang bumitaw live Band Version 3rd Avenue, then try MORISSETTE- POWER first take after being ill for some time, with Dave on the mixing Board checking that everything is in order and how it was, her voice in this home video is absolutely superb, you see Mori's joy after, and the face from Dave he cannot believe how great she sang this song, of course Mori sang this song at the MISS UNIVERSE CONTEST and it was super but this was even better try, now hoping that the rest of your year is the best there is keep dreaming.

Spanish gusto is indeed like/want and the same as the Filipino/Tagalog word....gusto. Translated to English, Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw means "I want to let go" in the song's case, from a relationship gone bad. So from that title alone and the way she encapsulates the meaning of the song with visual conviction, one would know what the song is about even without knowing 99 percent of the lyrics.
