This was masterful she put alot of thinking into this music video I think the cloak that she keeps with her represents her dad and it protected her in the beginning because she wrapped it around her and she drops it because he stopped protecting her after they became estranged but then she covers herself with the cloak again and she keeps saying she won’t let go and she never lets it go and at the hand she had it wrapped around her like a hug she looks up and smiles hoping her father gets her message that she still loves him no matter wat

So glad you guys reacted to this. This was such an important move for Morissette's career. This is her first English single co-written/produced by her (the song and MV). And the song is an absolute BOP! Btw, she wrote it for her father. They haven't spoken for a year or more because of some personal differences (but were very close prior to this) and Mori was heavily affected by their disconnect. This song is really important to her in many ways. She cried while doing the premiere on her livestream. Edit: I would request both Mori's 2020 acapella version of Rise Up (on her YT channel) or her latest video "Tell Me You Love Me" (Demi Lovato cover, also on her YT channel).

GREAT Reaction...Thank You This song is dedicated to her father whom she hasn’t spoken to for over a year. She tried and tried to communicate but still received no answer. The reason of the misunderstanding between two is because of her choice to be independent. As a father, it would be a very hard to have your daughter away from you. And maybe also because of his relationship with Dave (the one who worked the cinematography). As you can see on the MV, there were parts that she’s not wearing the shawl every time she shows emotions and that symbolizes as her being away from her father. Despite of her choices in life, she still loves her father. “I still love you🎶” (wearing the shawl again). PS. The shawl represents as her father by the way....Also Morissette and Dave Lamar (fiance) co-wrote this Dave did Most of the Camera work

Its an amazing MV, considering....it was all done with 9-11 people and that includes the Miko (make-up) and John (Hair stylist) and a cple of scuba divers. It was filmed at Cape Santiago Lighthouse in Calatagan ( 3 or 4 hrs south of Manila) and at a friends beach house.
