I went on a date with a Mormon girl in the 80s. My parting gift at the end of the date? A Book of Mormon... Even better, I was pulled over by a cop driving home from the date, and he was really hassling me. Shining a flashlight in my face, and then into the car. It stopped abruptly when it landed on the Book of Mormon lying on the passenger seat, and his attitude immediately changed. He lightly scolded me for my expired registration, and sent me on my way... I kept that Book of Mormon in my glove box for years!

Yeah stay away from Utah for love.. It is one big disgusting state. Look at where the name Moab comes from. The People voted in Weed and the Church said No... And .. That was it.. Woman are held there can't leave. So many shows.. I should of payed attention. Instead I gotta live with my self for trying to save one that didn't wanna be saved. Ugh I feel so disgusting and dirty any time I talk about that nasty family. I bet you any money you were in Price Utah or Helper? She was in her 30s And her Child had a better IQ.

@kiwibrown Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus said that? And if you want to get technical, all dating is sexual. Holding hands -- heck, touching someone's face can be sexual. You can't deny yourself all contact with the opposite sex before marriage. Be sane for heaven's sake.
@Oberon4278
@Oberon4278 4 жыл бұрын
@kiwibrown Also, yes, there IS something bad about it. LDS marriages top the charts for sexual dysfunction. Much of the reason for that is the absolute, hardcore denial of any and all sexuality before marriage. Then when you get married you're supposed to just flip a switch and have everything be normal and healthy. It doesn't work that way. You can't go your entire life suppressing something and expect it to have no long term impact. Humans are inherently sexual. That's not a bad thing. Your romantic relationships before marriage SHOULD have a sexual aspect, within the boundaries that you are comfortable with. After all, how awful would it be to commit yourself to someone for eternity only to find out you have zero physical chemistry?
@Oberon4278
@Oberon4278 4 жыл бұрын
@kiwibrown And if you want sources to back up my claims I'll be happy to get them for you. Real, actual peer reviewed articles by psychologists and marriage counselors WHO WORK AT BYU.

Thanks for making this video!!! Don't get down about those against the church either. You're making these videos because you want to help people smile! And to put my two cents, the church standards aren't strict rules you must abide by. They're guidelines, and I see many peers move away from them. Heck, even I have sometimes. The church doesn't shame you. And honestly, I feel more happy when I live that lifestyle. It's a life that has a lot of light in it!

What's it like to have everything set out for you? Not having to make your own choices or deal with your own problems, because "god" does it for you? Being rich simply for being born into the right family? Waiting for a man to marry you and take care of you your whole life? If I'm missing something here, please let me know, but this is how I see Mormonism, especially Mormon women. Are ya'll just groomed to be housewives your entire lives until you get married? Do you have jobs? How do you afford all those kids? Do you feel like your own person, or just a puppet of the church/your family? Do you feel free or chained down? Im just really curious what could lead someone to a life like this, and how someone could just submit themselves to something on blind faith. Also I'd rather be a housewife than a 24 year old male tech support worker.
@juliahart8593
@juliahart8593 2 жыл бұрын
well, I'm not Mormon, but I'm catholic and groomed in basically the same way. also born in moab even though I grew up in Virginia so here ya go: -it sucks ass because you and your arranged guy learn about sex WAY too early on in life. he and I lost our virginities to each other at age seven. -it sucks ass because the guy was allowed to rape me and suffered from zero repercussions because if he were in jail, I'd be socially fucked and ostracized by everyone in my community. (not to mention I'm not 20 yet and already have 3 kids as a result of said rapes.) -it sucks ass because you have to hide any postsecondary education from your parents, which gets tough when you have to, yknow, find a way to pay for tuition. I could go on and on and on. thankfully, I'm not in that environment anymore, as I realized I was bi and moved out with my then-gf at 16. but basically it sucks ass. as for affording kids, either your husband works his ass off or, like I said, you hide your postsecondary education from your parents. and how someone could submit to this...i was born into it. the way everyone else perceives human existence in general as "the only way to live" was how I viewed this way of life. I knew NO other way to live until I began attending private Christian school at age 10, when, ironically, I began seeing the ways other people lived and realized there was more to life. but my pussy-ass self didn't actually grow the balls to move out for six entire years.

so why do Mormons call it a date? Are they looking for a future partner? How can you tell if someone is flirting? or is that bad to act sexy or attractive? Does getting close to the person you "like" make the church uncomfortable or curious? Is there a time frame when getting married is kosher? do you feel bad for being attracted to someone in the church? Straight forward questions, what people really want to understand.

Such indoctrination that goes on in this church for everyone involved. Very sad. If there wasn't so much brainwashing that goes on maybe they could make up their own minds about who they end up with. But between the brainwashing and guilt tripping there is really no chance for them to be free and to make their own decisions.
@ryanj2747
@ryanj2747 7 жыл бұрын
you are ignorant, you just admitted "LDS girls are indoctrinated from the time they are very young". Anyone who is a part of the LDS cult is brainwashed. Anyone who thinks they aren't must be brainwashed themselves, programmed to not open their eyes about the church or its history or how it is all a lie.
@ryanj2747
@ryanj2747 7 жыл бұрын
Ralph Wiggam you're definitely brainwashed if you're still a member. If you know about the history of your church then you know that Joseph smith had 34 wives and so that makes you a coward for staying in your church even though he was obviously a fraud. And if you think those 34 marriages he had were only celestial marriages then that also makes you a liar becuase you're own church even admits that they were more than that.
@teresaGarcia-hu8pi
@teresaGarcia-hu8pi 7 жыл бұрын
Ralph Wiggam seems you have filth coming out of your heart, seems like education in the LDS church is used to manipulate. who wants a stuck up bitch anyway? why does the men of the LDS church support this behavior? I just spoke yesterday with lds men and as soon as they realized I wasn't a sheep for religion they didn't give 2 shits what I thought or reguarded. There's nothing attractive about their walk in life. even if they eat better and go to expensive schools. nothing makes you a better person other than just being one, nothing makes people happy other than to love yourself. True Mormons in my opinion are those born into it and as one might speculate there doesn't seem to be much choice in the matter. The fact is that a huge group of people would shun you included are your parents.

I don't get the Diet Coke thing with Mormons. They can't have caffeine so they don't drink coffee or regular soda, but uhhhh, Diet Coke has caffeine......actually this was quoted from The Daily Mail "Diet cola drinks contain higher levels of caffeine than regular versions"........

@brandonvance9688 7 жыл бұрын
Caffeinated sodas are not against the Word of Wisdom, which is the official doctrine in the LDS church regarding the consumption of various substances and foods. Many people choose not to drink soda with caffeine, however. This is a personal decision on their part and not explicitly prohibited. Hope that helps :)

Brandon Vance so it's still looked down on? does the Mormons own a beverage company? did Joseph Smith enjoy many wives? was he ever jailed, was he a mason? did he use a seeing rock to tell prophesy, where are the golden tablets? does the bible say do not add or subtract from scripture? was jesus he to create a new denomination?

teresa Garcia Looks like you have a lot of questions! and I hope they are sincere, because only when we truly want to learn can God or anyone teach us. Im a member of the LDS church and have a strong testimony that it is the church led by Jesus Christ. I have studied and read and prayed and lived the commandments in order to get the confirmation I have. I don't have all the answers but I know God answers prayer and helps us understand things that dont make sense at first. so if you really want to know the answers to those questions, message me directly. I dont feel the comment section of a random video is the best place to address all of those hah :P

A man had a private spiritual encounter, where he produced a book which he said was from God. He said it confirmed previous Scriptures, though in actual fact it added fundamentally new doctrines (and by implication, overrode previous doctrines). It never outright criticised the actual Scriptures Christians had, but this Book by implication criticised them. To make sense of their new religion, these followers had to say that the Word of God in the Bible had been corrupted and lost somewhere on the way. This new book produced a whole load of other stories about Prophets. But rather than these Prophets speaking this themselves, with miracles of amazing power that were witnessed by whole communities of people (such as seeing the Red Sea part, or seeing a man raised from the dead), this man instead asked you to believe the book based on your feeling of simply reading that book. The man who declared himself a Prophet used his revelation to justify marrying many women. He also used his book to justify a return to legalism. The effect of his book was to bring the "holy land" to the place where he lived. That man's name was Muhammad and the book he brought was the Quran, and he brought the "holy land" to Mecca and the Kaaba, and used his revelation to justify marrying many women. If that story sounds similar, it's because its meant to- it's been rehashed and repackaged just for you. But if you want the Message that was confirmed by the Prophets themselves, where God promised not to let His Word pass away (Isaiah 40:8), and declared that death would not overcome His Message (Matthew 16:18), then I exhort you to look into the Message of love and grace in the Bible, whereby the God who says "besides me there is no other God" (Isaiah 45:5, restated in various ways in Scripture) saves you, even when you were counted as His enemy (Romans 5:10). That was done in love for. If you want to explore that message more, if you want to explore the Gospel according to the Gospel, consider the videos on youtube by the "Bible Project". I'm not anti-Mormon, I love Mormons. But I also love the truth and I love the perfect Word of God which is "is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for EVERY good work". (2 Timothy 3:16-17, emphasis added). Love, peace and respect to all.

Now do a video about Joseph Smith dating before he married his 38 documented wives. Include the ones that were 14 years old and the dozen or so that were already married to other living men. It should be interesting. There’s probably going to be a lot of discreet coercing and making threats of eternal consequences. I could help you guys write the script for it, or better yet pick up any biography ever written about him and come up with your own. :)

I've finally seen the light and have seen my way out of the constraints of this faith. My family believes I have been deceived by the devil and I'm honestly happier with myself, have less guilt about not living up to the Mormon cookie cutter life and put all my burdens on Jesus instead of myself. Life is getting better for me. Talking to women feels more real than it ever has in my life.
