Listen in as members of the mormon church are COACHED by lawyers on what to say so that they can make sure mormon temples can be built in areas where zoning laws prohibit them. This meeting took place in Fairview Texas just before mormon residents were to appear at the Fairview Town Council Meeting where the Town Council was deciding whether or not to issue a Conditional Use Permit for the building of the mormon temple.

Any lawyer coaching Mormons on what testinony to give at zoning meetings should be disbarred.

I’m not sure the legality of this but it seems underhanded coming from an institution claiming to be talking with god.

What is the problem? They're talking about the historical details and biblical history to present why we need it the way we need it. Also talking about how when we give in a little, we will keep giving in until we have no height on the temples. There is absolutely nothing wrong with talking about why certain things are sacred in our beliefs. It's amazing how the sheep just follow along in commenting why it's bad based on the title of the video.

DJ-im7cm - The problem As suggested by the other commentator is that the lawyer is suggesting reasons for such a tall spire that are not true and and do not reflect Mormon core beliefs.

So sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The worst part is feeling helpless to do anything about it. The church lawyers have been brazen about their ability to "turn up the heat" if needed and that they are sure they can "win".

I'm sure the lawyers had to start coaching those members who chose to speak because the only thing they were doing was bearing their testimonies, not getting to tge point in the city council meetings. Really? There is scripture about this in Isaiah chapter 1, I believe, it says that God does not want your tall steeples your big building, something like this. . It also says in the Bible that God did not want his Temple to be a house of business.... Although, now i think about it, we can't be part of the temple worship unless we pay money. Sounds like business to me.

One of the temple recommend questions is do you obey the laws of the land I guess lds members don’t have to under religious freedom they can build what the want where they want and when.

We are being conned. He says it is not doctrine but we gotta do this. When the main church behaves like the mission, BYU or a remote branch with more you have to do, so believe this silly story.

How pathetic that church attorneys gaslight the local "leaders". Teaching "leaders" to lie for the Lord... Such a tragedy. But perhaps this gaslighting/coaching to lie to the "leaders" will form cracks in these decent people with integrity.

For me the problem is not that steeples can be symbolic...it's that this is SUDDENLY being taught and coached into members now because it will aid in a legal battle. If the church wasn't getting pushback, no one would be talking about steeples. The church has limitless resources and could build somewhere where it won't ruin rural neighborhoods, they are just choosing not to.
@DJ-im7cm
@DJ-im7cm 2 ай бұрын
But why should we give in and not push? I'm tired of giving in honestly. The church has been giving in way too much lately. So much that I'm not happy with the church right now. Happy with being a member, just not happy with church decisions..... or indecisions. But It's a beautiful temple with beautiful grounds.

Ridiculous, made up. He’ll get better at presenting it as real. Of course it is to show dominance and be overbearing like cathedrals intended, he ventures to compare. Once we thought that was naughty.

He said RLUIPA makes it so town's have to show a significant need to overcome it. I thought RLUIPA requires the religious group to prove the architecture is part of their religion, meaning the burden is on the church not the town.
