So glad that John ended the discussion with questions for Dan on what he has coming up next. I think this series has done a lot to bring Dan's work to the forefront. I've long enjoyed Dan's KZbin channel, he's very thorough.

I love how Dan doesn't bite on to the name thing he could have because it makes sense but doesn't. That's why I feel like I can believe him more than some of the other people because unless he can explain it for sure he doesn't go on assuming things.

This information is WILD. I would love to buy Dan's books and source check this stuff myself. How does the church keep existing with this information? I really think there needs to be healthy engagement with apologists and critics alike. But, if any of the stuff Dan says it true, this is insane damage to the church's truth claims. I don't understand how they can keep expanding their influence yet still push this stuff into the corner. While I do find that there is definitely a spiritual quality and wisdom within the BoM, it makes my faith so hard to maintain when I keep running across all this dirt. Why hasn't the church sorted this out? What the hell? It's madness. Joseph Smith was TRULY a figure to pull all of this off. He really doesn't get enough credit. I think I should just go Catholic. I believe their apostolic claims of authority more than the LDS church does. Also the LDS church's doomsday claims need to seriously be put in scrutiny. Every general conference they throw out the "return of the Lord is coming". People have been saying that for years. It's becoming ridiculous. It's a shame. They've created such beautiful temples and music yet they seem to be standing on some real dirt. Ugh. This is all such a mess.

Religions exist based on faith. One of the main idea of Joseph Smith was that priesthood authority was not on the Earth after original apostles died up to 1830, called Great Apostasy. Personally, I can't accept that theory because Jesus said I am with you until the end of the world. Catholic Church and Orthodox Church have the most correct theory, based on apostolic succession up to present day, keeping the written and unwritten Word of God.

It’s not hard to believe that Joseph Smith figures out how to use the power of suggestion on his own. I had a friend in fifth grade that kept trying to convince us that there were spirits in a house by the school playground. She would even make herself cry to convince people and some kids said they saw them too. It’s not that unique of a tactic.
