Lyrics O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: we lift our hearts before thee and wait upon your word, we honor and adore thee, our great and mighty Lord. The flower of earthly splendor in time must surely die, its fragile bloom surrender to you the Lord most high; but hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown - though small in mortal stature, to heaven's garden grown: for Christ the King from heaven from death has set us free, and we through him are given the final victory! Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our king; and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'II triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.

I would love it if this dreamy-beautiful hymn made it into our new Latter-day Saint hymn book. Also harkens to another gorgeous hymn, “The Iron Rod.” 🙏🏽

T the iron rod came to me While flying my hang glider over Green Point, Michigan.I thought it was a warning so I flew to Frankfort/Elberta to land. As my feet touched down, the hum changed to Sweet Is the Work...Upon returning home I found a message from my Bishop, calling me to be thr Ward Missionary Leader... s calling from on high... message from my Bishop

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart I will praise his holy name! Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things; my youth is renewed like the eagle’s. - Psalm 103

the name of the hymn tune is Thaxted. It's derived from the Jupiter portion of Gustav Holst's The Planets. Holst was the one who wrote the hymn tune as well and there have been a number of different hymns that have used it.

Beautiful music beautifully done. Thank you so much!
I really wish credit was acknowledged as composed by Gustav Holst between 1914-1917..composer Holst was paying tribute to his favorite subject. I.e. astrology..this THAXTED was his tribute to THE Planets..it was popularized in British Patriotic song, to commemorate the soldiers who fought in WW I" I vow to thee, my country "..more recently, Christians changed the lyrics, yet once again..to what you are listening to now

What do you want them to do, stop in the middle of verse 2 and say "shout out to Holst?" This is an incredibly popular tune and the vast majority of people know it is his. It's the reason why his Jupiter suite is the best known. As you said yourself if has a long tradition of lyrics being set to it. And I don't think Holst would mind - have you forgotten his Hymn of Jesus piece?
