Really good tutorial. Detailed and patient my only comment is it would be good to put it altogether at the end by playing a cover of the whole song.

Hi I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for about a year so I’m familiar with chords and notes etc. However I’ve just started playing electric and there’s a lot of stuff I’m confused about, I have a squier Stratocaster, there’s a switch on the guitar with changes the sound and I’m not sure what that means, there’s two tone knobs I’m not sure what they control exactly.... I would like to play morning glory and I can play the chords fine but I looking to get that heavy noisy sound that Ant is getting here but when I play it just sounds too clean, any help would be appreciated
@olivershore46044 жыл бұрын
The switch changes which pickup is active. With the switch all the way to the left you have just the neck pickup, middle is middle and right is bridge. On a strat you have two inbetween positions as well which are neck and middle and middle and bridge respectively. Bridge is a harsher in your face sound whereas the neck will be more warm. For the heavy sound, you need gain. This comes from an overdrive/distortion pedal. You may have this effect built into your amp if you are using a solid state/modelling amp and not tube. Any more questions let me know

When I play with the song it just doesn’t sound right ?
@georgewaters25285 жыл бұрын
Are you playing it along to the original recording? If so it's likely your guitar will sound a little out of tune. When Oasis recorded their first albums they tended to speed the tracks up slightly and in doing so it would raise everything up in pitch a tiny bit. If you want to play along you can either tune your guitar slightly up or find a version of the song on youtube in A = 440Hz. Hope this helps!
@Logan-df4lu5 жыл бұрын
George Waters what would you have to tune your guitar too?
@georgewaters25285 жыл бұрын
@@Logan-df4lu yep, tune it up roughly to halfway between E and F
