MC -750 is a fantastic vertical Antenna! Easy setup and tuned in minutes plus it is a great antenna to combine with a QRP rig. TNX for these videos, I use them for head copying practice.

Thanks for watching! Completely agree about the MC-750. It’s a great portable antenna all-around and is nicely packaged with all the parts. The complete package & band marks are really what make it stand out in my opinion.

Thanks Aaron. Really enjoyed your comments. I decided that the only way I would activate is with the FT-891 and ATAS-120. No time lost in setup and take down. Excellent results. Too lazy? Maybe... but I just want to operate. And our Minnesota mosquitoes! Your mornings look so peaceful. We would be eaten alive. Always enjoy working you.

Any way that gets you out and on the air is great! I love the 891/ATAS combo. 73!

Nice! I want a Mtn Topper SOOO bad. I saw a 3b for sale in the POTA discord. It went fast. Maybe someday I will get lucky. Looks like good Turkey hunting country.

@@w4arb dang! That’s awesome! I should have got one way back when but never thought I would learn CW. Still not there but I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel lol. Just gotta work on my copy. Why I like your videos you’re at about the speed I can pick it up. Not to fast not to slow.
@w4arb4 ай бұрын
You can snag one if you keep an eye out for them. They just go pretty quick when they come up. IMO, jump on the air and start hunting POTA! It’s an easy exchange and you’ll get better real fast on the air. :)

Thank you for sharing Aaron. I just got the MTR-4B on Monday and looking forward to getting it setup. I want to start listening and trying to progress in my CW journey. I am a little concerned about what battery I should buy for it. Aaron, did you buy the 9V External Battery Connector Kit and the Spare DC Power Pug for the MTR? I also have the MC-750. I need to get an SWR meter to make sure the SWR is low, any suggestions? Thank you so very much for the video, you have been a big help to me in getting my ham radio journey. Thank You KO4UWU 73

Very nice!! Such a great radio. I didn’t buy the 9V plug from LNR, but I did buy one from amazon. Also, it has an SWR meter built in! If you put it in straight key mode, it will display both SWR and power out. So I don’t use an external meter with the MTR4B. I look forward to hearing you on the air! 73

Hey Aaron! KQ4LEA up in Huntsville. Love the videos! New to CW - almost done with Beginner course in CWOps. Tips for character / word recognition? I know all the letters, numbers, some pro signs...but sometimes get lost midway through a word or phrase. And ideas for how to improve my copy (I'm using CW Player, Morse Code Ninja 20wpm - Top 100 Words, etc.)?

Hi & awesome on learning CW! It’s a lot of fun. My biggest tip is to practice by making contacts on the air. Using it on the air was the way that I picked up on things like instant recognition much faster. Hunting POTA/SOTA is great practice since it’s a really simple exchange. The more you do it, the better you’ll get! I still get lost mid phrase sometimes, it’s just part of it :) 73!

If there’s a funner rig than an MTR-4B I haven’t met it. One day I’ll be up early enough to get you in the log.
