This whole story sounds so fishy! There should have been NO LIVE AMMUNITION on the set, who brought it to the scene? Why did the prop man fail to check the gun? This case needs deep investigation, it appears premeditated and hiding behind "an accident."

Not as much as you'd think, and in any case, only the props master has the responsibility to arrange, set up, break down, clear, check, and hand off any weapon. That's why they're called the 'props master'. They handle that role. Actors act. Makeup people do make-up. Directors direct, etc.

The person that had been using the gun for target practice did not remove "all" of the live ammo. I think there should be some sort of punishment. All prop guns should remain empty until ready for use and 3 people should inspect blanks. This should not have happened.

Same type of incident occurred on the set of the Crow W/Brandon Lee, there should NEVER be live ammunition on a movie set, NO excuse whatsoever!!! Those that are responsible for the props & their safety R also responsible 4 whatever happens when said prop malfunctions!

Only the greenest of novices could confuse live rounds with blank ammo! What in the world was cartridges doing on a movie set? I'll set aside culpability for Alec until at least a dozen questions are answered.

You don't sound like much of an expert to me, and additionally... I think they all have enough investigators working the case. There is no instance where this would be Baldwin's fault with the SOLE exception being if he somehow (magically) knew that the gun was loaded and ready to fire live ammunition. But, there's almost no instance when an actor (at this level) should have knowledge nor responsibility for ANY prop (nor costuming... lighting... sound... makeup... hair styles... camera... food, etc.). The props 'master' would be the one responsible... with the EXCEPTION that if someone else tampered with the gun (with the intentions to deceive everyone on set). But even so... the props master should NEVER allow the weapon to be in anyone else's hands except him/herself and the actor's. No cartridges of any kind needed to be inside the weapon unless they were shooting scene RIGHT THEN and there. Bottom line: PROPS MASTER. 😕 A travesty of negligence, and a tragedy, for certain.
