Morning Walk from Quiet Village up Sprawling Mountain Temple | Kurama, Japan 4K

Kurama is a small village alongside a river at the foot of a sprawling mountain temple complex. On this morning we start walking along the Kurama River with traditional Japanese houses on one side, and small gardens on the other. We take a look at the shops around the station before starting to climb the many stairs leading through Kurama Temple and finally to the Root Path.
There is a bit of rain along the way, and I was living dangerously walking without an umbrella, so there are a few times where I had to stop and seek shelter. There are also a few more cuts than usual as my gimbal and camera settings weren't ideal, sorry things are a bit shaky. Despite the technical issues I hope you enjoy this early fall walk in Kurama.

This place is so beautiful. I am an artist, and am very drawn to moss and greens, and this video has so many amazing references that I get so excited every time you turn a corner and there are some rocks or an old lantern. I really like the way you film, as I often find that whenever there is something in the frame that I find myself more curious about, you end up going there and getting a good look. I'd love to see more videos of locations with greens similar to this place, or this atmosphere. I can't really go out and walk around these places myself, so I am truly happy and grateful to have found this channel. Thank you for taking us with you!

Beautiful walk up to the temple. I like the touch of orange-red in the lanterns, posts and railings against the green foliage background. The trail where tree roots grow like tentacles on the ground surface looks a bit eerie, a major tripping hazard. Those roots remind you of how long the trees have been around. Beautiful and interesting hike. Thank you.

Thank you, I really like posts along the stairs. It's easy to forget you're climbing with the beautiful forest and posts leading up the mountain. I also found the roots a little unsettling, I imagine in twilight it would be even more so. Thanks again : )

Thank you again, it certainly is nice to get into the countryside. A while back I did a road trip across Germany, some very beautiful countryside there as well. I wish I was filming back then, perhaps someday.

This is Kurama-dera, or Kurama Temple, just a bit north of Kyoto City. It is a fairly popular place for visitors as there is a train running from the city up the mountain to Kurama Station. maps.app.goo.gl/vx2vXKXYpvo6xoAo9
