Neal called it yesterday with Jerome. It's nice to see what they're doing but until housing / rent / general cost of living actually starts to go down I feel this doesn't really change anything (for me personally). It does suck to see that interest rates on savings accounts will go down - that's my only source of passive income.

Great episode! I’d just like to comment that the noise from concerts at the Bernabéu isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Concerts typically end by midnight, mostly happen on weekends, and occasionally on Wednesday nights. I live just a five-minute walk away and can see the stadium from my living room. Honestly, the noise isn’t any worse than match days - and Real Madrid fans are LOUD! The biggest nuisance, like with Karol G’s concert, was the influx of fans for a few days, but that’s about it. I think my neighborhood is just being dramatic! Now, if people were complaining about match days, that would be more understandable!

One thing I've noticed about apartment buildings next to big box retail stores is that they are always too expensive for the workers to live in, so they end up commuting anyway. Why can't housing costs match the worker pay in any given area? Doesn't that make sense?

any housing is not good housing, its just apartments, when referring to Costco just trying to build a new store, single-person units don’t even make sense, how many singles/ couples are going to need a membership at Costco? it just adds more to the argument that this is just so that they can get a store approved.😅

When it comes to a supply-side housing crisis, literally ANY new housing is good housing. Especially an apartment building and especially in a major city like LA.

No, it’s not more fun to have low interest rates. It jacks asset prices up beyond affordable levels - obviously - and penalizes responsible savers while rewarding debt, all to the benefit mainly of banks. The cost of housing, for example, is a huge drain on future wealth because of the lost investment and savings opportunities. Your house is not a great investment vehicle. You earn at least 10x less on a home than return on equities. So if you don’t have money left to save and invest you will be poor in retirement.
