Great tips here. I think the first 1,000 subscribers are the most difficult to achieve but once you hit that anything is possible. I wish everyone the best of luck growing their channel. You will get there in no time just keep putting in the work!!!

Loved the binge watching method that nico explained; recently i was addicted to a channel and kept watching all of its videos for days and then eventually i subscribed to it.

Thanks my friend! Haha yea, we have no other choice then, right? ;) I think that it is just awesome if creators manage to provide such an experience for us and it is a bliss if we manage to create this experience for our videos as well. :)

I have 7.24K technically. But only a couple hundred of them are active subscribers. So, for all intents and purposes, I effectively consider myself to be below 1K subs. In the first 72 hours of upload, I usually get around 300 views. And then the views basically flatline after that. But I guess my growth engine is still running, as you say. I just need to speed it up. SEO is so vital for me at this point. 9:46 I love when I see binge watchers on my channel. They'll leave comments on multiple videos of mine back-to-back and clearly, they are watching one video after the next (lol hey, kind of like how I'm doing right now with your vids). This where I see views from "playlists" "end screens" and "suggested video" become more common. Good advice on making series. My most popular series is also my longest. It's 30 videos and still growing. Also, I like to group my videos not just in terms of series but with common themes/topics as well. This helps me to never lose any video ideas, I can always rotate by doing a video or 2 for one playlist and do the same for another and so on.

It’s actually normal that the active subscriber count is much lower than the total subscriber count. If you are at 10% you are actually really good. And you seem to be at about 5% which is good as well. And since you observe people binge watching your videos, you certainly have proof that everything is working fine. Of course easier that than done but it’s all about scaling up what already works for you. :)

I'm struggling. A small niche channel really struggles to grow.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
I just had a look at your channel and thus can recommend you - besides the 100 subs video that I linked in this video - this method in particular: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKDdd3aNmtJljqc You will quickly see that you will build a list that includes channels like Jackson Galaxy etc. which will then give you ideas about topics that are currently big. I bet it’ll be a valuable source for inspiration for you. Fingers crossed!
@DrOrion3 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame Thank you for responding, and responding so fast. A few minutes after responding to this video I did see the second one but I didn't want to spam you by responding there too. So yes! Jackson Galaxy is one source (and I actually believe that he "stole" an idea from me too but that might be a coincidence) and a few other. I'm also searching for a reddit sub that actually allows posting videos (of course, after they know me) but it seems that this is also a challenge. Thanks again!
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
@@DrOrion My pleasure pal! :) Hahaha, well, steal some ideas back. ;) It’s really tough to get a channel off the ground but inspiration from other channels help us to better understand what people really want to watch. That then allows you to try out some new topics and then you can see if they work for you. Since you already tried to many different topics it’s worth analyzing which ones did the best and then doubling down on them. So do follow ups of your best performing ones and you may even get enough organic views without having to share them. Fingers crossed!

I've seen your thumbnail into my homepage Nico. This Thumbnail is great, it pops. I wonder if it will have a good CTR. If it works, that mean we don't have to over simplify every thumbnail. That mean we could have good looking and good CTR at the same time 😉
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, thanks Stephane! Well, the CTR is not that good unfortunately. But I wouldn’t attribute it to the thumbnail. Rather the topic allow people to decide whether they need to watch it or not. Obviously only those creators who are still below 1k subs tend to be interested. So a big portion of my own audience skips this one. In any way, indeed, I am trying to add more detail to my thumbnails recently. In this one here I have these sun ray stripes that replace my usual plain yellow background. It doesn’t add detail that needs the viewer’s brain power to process but it makes the thumbnail feel more alive. 😃✌️

How long on average does it take to achieve 1000 KZbin subscribers?.

This varies quite a lot but TubeBuddy once did a study and found out that the average channel takes 164 videos to reach the 1k subs mark.

Hi Nico, I currently have nearly 8000 watch hours but still only have 372 subscribers, is this normal? it seems a little odd to me 🤔
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
No worries Angus! This doesn’t sound like something too off. What reason do you give your viewers to subscribe? If they watch any of your videos, do you manage to make them think, “I have to subscribe to not miss a certain future video!” by e.g. mentioning what videos you have planned?
@angusdavid2 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame it's a little difficult to do that as my channel is music based, and I don't talk in them. I have a subscribe animation at the beginning of all my videos. I also use cards and end screens but apart from that I'm not sure I can be specific about subscribing, other than hoping they enjoyed the video and would like to watch more 🤔
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
@@angusdavid I would read through all your comments with an eye on anything that your viewers said about how they engage with your channel. Did they check out your channel page? Did they mention what they were looking for? Do they click your cards / end screens? The worst thing that could happen to you as a music channel is that they just listen to music in the background on auto play. But if they somehow look at anything like the comments section, channel page etc. then you know where to plant some info that tells them there is more to come in the future. Also, if you have Morningfame then check out the Linked Content section in the Algorithm tab. It’ll tell you more about the various different music playlists in which your videos landed. That can give you an even better picture of how people discover your channel.
