Hey Nico! What is a good target that is reasonable to work towards for average view duration for each video.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
@@Adventureswithbecky Great question! You can actually see that in Morningfame’s Workshop tab for Watch Time. Here is it for my channel. Have a look at the numbers on the green line in the top graph: morningfa.me/central/workshop/watch-time?access=233b5a53-cb0a-4d5f-ae21-b2c6658d1d63 And by only looking at how long your videos are, we can generally say that a minimum should be 4 minutes and up.

Seems like my upload frequency is where I need to focus on. In morningfame, my avg. view duration from both subs and visitors are above the average line. But my watch time is just below the line. My active subscribers count is excellent according to morningfame (253 compared to 89) but I need to work on my "subscribers per video". Also, I tend to notice that channels that upload at least once daily do really well in terms of views and subs. I can't quite do that. I need time to script, record, and edit.
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
Great thinking! But certainly do only as much as it makes sense for you. More frequent uploads speed up a channel’s growth but as you say there is a limit to what is doable while still keep the videos high quality.

Hey, got a question for you: Let's say I have a video that I did some time ago and I decide to redo it because I am unhappy with it, BUT it does have a bit of views, likes and a certain number of hours. So, if once I create the NEW one can I put the OLD one in privte status and have the views, likes and watch time still count? And, if not for monitization, do they still count towards watchtime for the channel when in private status?
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
Excellent idea to do that! I bet with everything you learned since the time you made the first video, the new one can be much better. And in regards to your channel numbers, you may set the old video to unlisted. Then its views still count into your channel views. However, they don’t count towards the watch time for monetization if I remember correctly. So it that is important to you then keep the old video public. I also have 5 public videos about KZbin tags.

Hi Nico! The audio in this studio format has too much echo and it makes me less focused on what you say. I watched both videos until the end, but only because I know your channel and also because I’m persistent on learning everything I can. Point is that I really like how calm your voice sounds and how well you explain things but now it became noisy and it doesn’t make me feel calm. I hope this feedback helps!

Indeed, it’s super bad. I doesn’t look like it but it’s a new studio and this is one of my first videos I created in there. I got these foam pads for the wall but they basically did nothing. I already fixed it by having a mattress in the room and will probably upgrade to sound curtains later. :)

That's my curse. I only ever got 1171 hour and have been losing watch time since Jone, at 1103 now. So hard to believe other people with 1100 subscribers usually have close to 4000. I get surprized every time people talk about it in Tube ritual.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
I am sorry to hear that Marta! If I had to guess I would say that your focus on a very particular hobby means that your subscribers tend to lose interest in your channel as they lose interest in their hobby. It’s actually the same for me. Many people want to succeed on KZbin, start watching many tutorials like mine, subscribe of course but after a few months lose interest in becoming a creator. So in these situations it’s particularly difficult to keep a high active subscriber count because so many become inactive. We basically have to compensate by gaining many more subscribers. Could there be some truth to it from your point of view?
@TechieSewing3 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame I'm not sure. More like I teach a thing, people either learn it well enough to stop learning or find other way to do a thing, one that's easier for them. Either way they stop active learning and just use what they know. It's the same for me and a raw converter I use, I have my routine and sometimes interested in more deep learning but I never last long and don't watch every video of the channels about Darktable, my raw converter, as they are released. I feel my viewers want to learn more 'someday', same as I do. People who really need my new videos badly enough to watch them are usually loud so it seems like there are many of them. According to Morningfame I have enough active subscribers but get about 2 hours of watch time a day, and currently my most popular video is a Short that is mainly viewed via Search by people of India. I do know a topic that answers a burning question, like 'how to get 4000 watch hours?' in KZbin niche, and since there is no one final answer, I could make many videos about it. I'm going to try that tactic after I finish the next narrow focused video that is promised in the end screen of the previous one.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
@@TechieSewing That is a great thought Marta! Once we overcome the learning curve in any area, we become less active in continuing to learn. So the challenge for knowledge channels seems to be to not depend on sharing hard basic knowledge but to provide “inspiration” for ongoing activities in the field. It sound a bit like what you plan to do. Your biceps adjustment could be done in many ways depending on which fashion style your are going for, right? Fingers crossed it’ll work well for you! :)
@TechieSewing3 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame Yes, inspiration, motivation and philosophy but the last one shouldn't be named. A lot of KZbin 'how to' videos are pretty philosophic but I doubt many people will click on "KZbin philosophy in depth" ;) For me adjustments are pretty niche as they are, they make thankful viewers but not many of them. "How to calibrate a projector for sewing?" would be one of those burning questions, the procedure is a bit different for different projectors and rooms but people keep asking that despite many written and video guides out there. I'm just not ready to de-calibrate my own for the video haha. But the algorithm for working with files, what to do first and what to continue width, anything to lessen the chaos of the new hobby should work well for new users. And ways to make anything easier are always popular too.
@TheIgnoredGender2 жыл бұрын
2 questions: 1. Do you know why KZbin made such a huge requirement of 4K watch time hours before getting monetized? Wouldn't it be in their best interest to get creators monetized ASAP as that is a revenue source for them? 2. Does watching your own videos count toward the watch time hours for monetization?
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
1. It actually isn‘t. For platforms of this size it has to deal with all sorts of misuse/spam. Hence the requirement to weed that out while keeping the effort to review channels low. And from your perspective, you need many more watch hours to actually earn a decent amount of money. So the requirements are really just a minor bump on the road. 2. Likely yes. But think long term: You need to build an engaged audience to earn decent revenue. So better focus on that than doing something that artificially gets you to monetization faster.
@lifeworx2 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame Also, the thought occurs to me that if you watch your own video to get monitization, once you reach that point and then stop watching your own videos, if nobody else has been watching your videos anyway, reaching monitization faster will not matter because it takes views to make money. No views = No money!

Does Morningfame do things like telling you what times your subscribers are online and thus what times are best to post your videos like VidIQ purports to do? I'm really liking all these Morningfame demos and would love to have an all-in-one tool. Thanks!

Great question pal! You can actually see this in KZbin Studio and hence do not need a 3rd party tool for this. On Studio for desktop go to “Analytics” then click the “Audience” tab at the top and then you’ll see a “When your viewers are on KZbin” section. If you wonder about the best time to publish then you’ll find another report for this purpose in Morningfame. Here is how it looks for my channel: morningfa.me/central/velocity/overview/by-date/tool/publish-time?access=233b5a53-cb0a-4d5f-ae21-b2c6658d1d63 I hope this helps!

@@Morningfame ah ok. I check that window a lot. That window claims there's not enough data. Which is ridiculous, obviously, because if you have even one viewer then KZbin could tell you when they're online if they wanted to. I'm not happy with VidIQ's report because it tells you what happened last week and it shifts every week. So I'm tracking my own data in Excel using the 'Past 48 hrs views' data.
@TheThinkersBible2 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame one more question -- when Morningfame rates keywords for a video Description, can Morningfame discern how many times a keyword is queried for? VidIQ and TubeBuddy both purport to do this, but their estimates differ literally by multiple orders of magnitude. I use VidIQ because the numbers are tractable and because I get more green lights for keywords (lousy reasons, I understand that!). I'm planning to try Morningfame because the analytics seem deeper and based on more solid data and explainable observations. The other tools seem to be general estimates based on I'm not sure what (but they're better than nothing when you're just starting out).
@Morningfame2 жыл бұрын
@@TheThinkersBible Yes, in Morningfame you also see how many times a keyword is queried for aka search volume.
